Here's an idea...

Why don't they just give each taxpayer who pays more than $3,280 in taxes a year, that exact amount of money back?

In fact, if we leave off of those who don't pay taxes... we could each be receiving $4,666 a piece.

I'm definitely inclined to think that putting $700b back into Americans' pockets would be a better alternative to this bailout. Whether the bailout happens or not the economy is done for. If they want to put a bandaid on a hemorrhage I'd say this would be the way to do it.

That said, I don't think we should spend any money we don't have so the whole point is really moot.
