Ron Paul is a champion for ending the war in Iraq. We all know and believe that. That is the central reason for my support of his campaign.

However, here comes Obama and his opposition to the War. Being somewhat of a political novice, I'm not too sure about Obama's true roots and his stance on things. All I hear from the Hillary camp is that BO doesn't have the experience. Yet, when I listen to Obama speak, he comes off as sincere - whereas when I listen to Hillary speak, she comes off as fake and pandering. Don't even get me started on McShame.

Here is my question: Is Obama to be trusted when he talks about ending the war in Iraq? Also, does Obama plan to back up pulling out of Iraq with a shift in foriegn policy, Ron Paul style?

Are Obama's words empty? Is he really serious?

Obama and Hilary have both said that they want out of Iraq, BUT....will consider what the generals have to say. Gee I wonder what career soldiers will have to say about staying in Iraq.

In short...no, but he will say that HE wants out, but that the generals dont

Good point. How sad is it when a career general uses war and killing to secure his pension and to justify his existence.

I'm active military, and I hate war. What does that make me?

Obama:

"I will not hesitate to use military force to take out terrorists who pose a direct threat to America."

"As President, I would deploy at least two additional brigades to Afghanistan to re-enforce our counter-terrorism operations".

Obama stated that as President he would consider military action in Pakistan in order to attack al-Qaeda, even if the Pakistani government did not give approval.

He was not in office to vote for the iraq war, but he voted to fund it for over 300 billion dollars.

Obama also will not guarantee a Iraqi troop pullout until at least 2013. http://action.richardsonforpresident.com/page/content/2013/obamarecord/

Sen. Barack Obama said Friday the use of military force should not be taken off the table when dealing with Iran, which he called "a threat to all of us."

Senator Barack Obama yesterday defended his votes on behalf of funding the Iraq war, asserting that he has always made clear that he supports funding for US troops despite his consistent opposition to the war.

I find this interesting. "Funding the troops" by it's very nature is FUNDING THE WAR. I love how politicians and pundits disguise the true intent with friendly, warm and fuzzy words...in a way, it is lying.

Indeed. most politicians are scared to shit to be labeled 'unpatriotic' by voting against that bill. What a shame.

As I had said, if you really want the iraq war to end ASAP, vote McCain. He will surge them to hell and we will be victorious and the war will end naturally. All these democrats are simply delaying the whole process.

Yeah, that'll work. Just like it worked in Vietnam.

Ron Paul is the only candidate that will remove us from Iraq. Period!

Hitlery, McPain or Obamba will leave us there for ever.

We have been in
Japan forever
Germany forever
Korea forever
we will be in Iraq forever.

We are building an Embassy as large as the Vatican in Iraq.

What makes you think any of those CFR SOB(s) are going to let us leave Iraq?

Hello hello, Brain dead; is there an echo in here?!

It's true we never lost a battle, there

if you vote for the money to fight the war then you voted for the war PERIOD!
if you take away the $$ you can't have the war
It's that simple

Thats like saying i am suing person A and then paying for his attorney to fight against me
Geeeeez !
why can't ppl see thru the obvious BULLSHIT!

Bush label these politicians who voted against the war 'unpatriotic'.

All these dumb democrats easily fall prey to his scare tactics. :D

He is not anti-war. He is anti-dumbwar as he puts it in his speech before the Iraq war authorization.

And FYI, Ron Paul is not anti-war. He voted for the war in Afganistan. The only anti-war candidate is myself. But I am not running this election. Too much heat in the kitchen.

I know RP is not "antiwar" in the sense of the word...I know he supports true national defense...but RP is against illegal, preemtive, imperial war, and that is what I, too, am against.
