Don't think so. The world is too tied up together due to globalization.

For what countries will hold up the best through this, i'd look toward ones with the least trade integration and smallest financial sectors...

You can see what is happening to Iceland already, the entire economy of which is dominated by banking. It's not pretty.

South Brazil was rocking...next trip Uruguay. We have little idea what true freedom is... Easier to fly across China now than in the states.

i live in canada... and i don't feel all that safe up here. i feel that we're too close to the US.

so here's my list of countries that i would move to if things got bad:

Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, Switzerland, Germany (i have a german passport), Costa Rica, and maybe a few other south american countries.

the central banks are propping each other up and they ultimately all hang by the same noose.

Couple that with China saying they want a global currency, the UK and Germany wanting a global financial regulator, and France saying the want a new order after the markets settle out...and well, it's not looking good.

I knew things would move fast, once they started heating up, I just never expected it to move this fast.
