It's probably just rhetoric as the Jews have been barking about it for a while as well.

Not surprising

The doctrine of preemptive warfare is an accepted policy by both the United States and Israel. Both nations have made public remarks of the need to preemptively strike Iran under certain conditions. There is nothing surprising with Iran considering the same. Nothing is said, or happens, by accident, in politics.

This is all rhetoric. There is no way Iran would overtly initiate an attack on Israel any time soon because they know they would get decimated- probably even nuked.

This is all mere saber-rattling to keep their profile up among the Middle Eastern countries and their own citizens distracted.
