Then all of the disgruntled Americans in this country will think that the only reason we still have problems in this country after 4 years is because we still have a Republican president in the White House. This is kind of why I want Obama to win. If Obama wins and people see for themselves no change at all, then maybe some of them will wake up to the reality that both choices really do suck. If McCain wins, everyone will still use the same argument that it's because we need a Democrat. That's why Obama must win.

That's not to say, however, that I'm voting for Obama.

The best chances to get a liberty candidate elected in 2012 is to have Obama win. That is if we dont lose control of everything by that time.

It is an interesting question. I'm not sure it matters. A failed Obama administration could be blamed on the true fact that he inherited too big a mess to be cleaned up in four short years.

I believe that the most important ingredient in a takeover by liberty candidates is education, and the most important ingredient in that education is us.

People will believe whatever the media feeds them. It will be twisted to suit the NWO no matter who wins.

This country will be more divided then has been since before the civil war if McCain wins. Mark my words.

In that sense, it might finally put the nail in the coffin for Social Conservatives who have driven this country back to the 1920s.

They could have said the same thing about FDR. Obama, may just as easily be re-elected no matter how bad the collapse.

When the collapse hits, a good portion of the populace will go along with any tyranical measure the president decides on. Either way, any liberty that we have now has a good chance of being wiped away by the future president.

I personally believe it matters not who wins. What matters is that the nation wakes up. I fear too many are sedated in ignorance

If anyone remembers back to the summer of 2007, McCain's campaign was awash in debt and showing poorly in the polls. The fact that we are even talking McCain now proves how much control they really have. If McCain is their candidate, he will win.

"This country will be more divided then has been since before the civil war if McCain wins. Mark my words."

I previous poster said this, I agree, if McCain wins it will be a 50/49 split, the 1% being everybody here that votes third party.

150 million of Americans are going to be very angry and frustrated that for now 8-12 years they virtually have no power to make the change they want.

If the GOP loses they had the last 8 years and they will consol themselves with that, and will say we will get it back in 2012.

That is exactly correct. There is nothing to quell the anger and frustration of those very hardcore 40%, the GOP can handle a loss, like most of the other side did when Bush was initially elected... but the last 8 years has been intolerable, and another 4 is going to give us the type of things you saw in Seattle during the Early 90s a whole new level of reality.

But on the other hand, if Obama doesn't win, it will be total chaos in the Democratic party. So both parties will be on the ropes - because the Republicans will indeed get the blame for the economy at the same time.

That's why it would have been nice to have a viable 3rd party candidate.

After reading the OP, my mind jumped immediately to Kade who linked the financial institution failures to eight years of a Republican in office in an older thread.
