Heading the Maskiteers Off At the Pass

Kudos to Ammon Bundy as he once again reminds Our Rulers who’s boss:

A planned Southwest District Health meeting to discuss the possibility of ordering a mask mandate amid rising COVID-19 cases was scrapped Thursday morning after “a large amount of protesters” turned up at the building and forced their way inside.

Multiple Caldwell Police officers were dispatched to the Southwest District Health building …, but no arrests were made.

These patriots have already admirably succeeded, but it gets better:

In a video recorded of the incident … , Ammon Bundy and multiple other people can be seen standing at the entrance to the building, arguing with an employee blocking the doorway about why they should be allowed inside.

At one point, Ammon asks the employee to call the police.

“You’re gonna cancel the meeting, or you’re gonna let us in, or you’re gonna call the officers to arrest us,” he says in the video. …

The meeting, which was set to be conducted over Zoom, was scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. but was repeatedly delayed. At about 9 a.m., a board member speaking via teleconference said the meeting would be rescheduled due to the number of protestors at the Caldwell building and concerns from law enforcement. …

Meanwhile, our heroes so traumatized these wusses that “’a crisis response team has been deployed to provide support to staff,’ the district said in a statement.”

Would that each of us put such fear of God in the curs and cusses dictating to us!

This is not the first time Ammon Bundy, who led a 2016 occupation of an eastern Oregon bird refuge, has been involved in protests directly related to Idaho’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

After Idaho Gov. Brad Little issued a statewide stay-at-home order in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus, Bundy held multiple meetings for his followers and urged people to attend a large in-person Easter celebration. He also published the home address and staged a protest outside the house of a Meridian Police officer who arrested a woman for trespassing after she repeatedly refused to leave a closed-down playground.

Anyone who admires Mr. Bundy’s strategy and tactics will find more details on both at the link. And thanks to Dirk Edwards for alerting me to this immensely encouraging story!

More awesome news. Thanks for posting it. THIS is how you get shit done.

And allow me to shamelessly pimp one of my own threads on this kind of thing:

I'll give it a bump too.

I like most of what he does. If this was a public hearing in a public building, they had every right to attend. I'm glad he was acquitted of the previous charges. I don't agree with publishing home addresses or protesting at politician's or officer's homes.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Ammon Bundy again.

Finally, something we can all agree on ...

You really think we "all" agree on and support this kind of thing? From where I'm sitting it looks like there's a small group of us that do, but that's about it. And one or two of those even seem to just toss off a token comment here and there and then go right back to cheering on statist action afterward.

Threads like this featuring real-life EFFECTIVE activism, unless someone goes to great pains to ensure otherwise, die off very quickly and things go right back to bitching about the latest racist comment by some third-rate leftist hack and kissing Trump's Cheeto colored ass. Which is unfortunate because good news like this could not only go a long way toward boosting morale around here, but could also serve to spark this kind of EFFECTIVE activism in many areas where it's just not going on right now. None of that happens if the threads die off right away and people aren't regularly reminded that there really are some extremely good things happening out there that could easily be duplicated elsewhere.
