I'm making this thread because I would like for the WOMEN on this forum to please explain how we can better taylor our message to appeal to other women. I'm not concerned about whom they are already supporting or anything of that nature. I'm just asking if theres anything we should be stressing that would appeal to the average woman.

Note for thread, If you are a male, please just listen and observe. Please resist the need to say something here. I'm asking this in this way because I did a demographic search and discovered that many of the other candidates have a much higher appeal to women than RP according to http://www.quantcast.com/ronpaul2008.com

Now what really bothered me was that Rudy has a higher appeal to women than RP according to quantcast.
I'm in no way implying that any one woman can speak for all women, but I do think you have a better perspective on how to change this, and I want that perspective.

The ultimate womens toy with Ron Paul 2008 on it would be my suggestion. LMFAO

Okay I am a 47 year old woman (former special education teacher), divorced, with a family. I have been a born-again Christian for 27 years. I read and study my bible regularly. I am for Ron Paul all the way! I was a registered democrat since 1988, and when I heard about Ron Paul last month. I changed parties so that I can vote for him in the primaries.

Not all of us women are mad-dog radical feminist women's libbers.

Why do women like Ron Paul:

+ Ron Paul is anti-abortion and pro-family - I switched parties on this one issue alone - all of the Democrats are abortionists. I voted my conscience in previous elections in favor of which ever candidate was anti-abortion.

+ Ron Paul does not like what public education does to our children, he wants to get rid of the Department of Education and give control of the schools back to the local districts. From my experience Public Schools are corrupt from the top in Washington DC all the way to the bottom, at the state and local levels. All that Federal Funding has been misused, misappropriated, abused in every way fashionable. Special Education funding is quite often redirected into other funds and very little of it, if any ever goes to the actual students who need it. NEA wants to teach our children against our personal values - ever since the 10 commandments were removed from public schools our country has gone into decline. The schools feel that THEY, not the parents, know what is best for our children, and they are turning our institutions of learning into indoctrination centers - kids are graduating from high school completely illiterate of the way Democracy is supposed to work, no knowledge of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the three branches of government, etc. but just ask a teen about global warming and you will get an earful! I would like to see our schools go back to local control, where school children could walk to school and were not bussed for 30 miles to other schools. Have you seen any of the new schools being built these days?? - they look for all the world like maximum security prisons with high walls and no windows!!! No wonder the school shootings have become so rampant - the very methods of the indoctrination centers create this hostile atmoshpere. You not only have to protect the school children from outside koo-koos, but you also have to protect them from each other. I think these incidents are the symptoms of a much more serious social malady.

+ Ron Paul is pro-homeschoolers (I did not home school my children but if I had it to do all over again, I would!) :D

+ Ron Paul voted against mandatory mental health screening for children - far too many average, ordinary, energetic children are "diagnosed" with ADHD and then drugged out of their minds with Ritalin and the other hyper-active drugs - and the "blowback" from that line of reasoning is we have created a nation of prescription drug addicts.

+ Ron Paul is against illegal immigration and funding any welfare programs to give to illegal immigrants. This is a BIG issue with me - I want my children to have access to health care, but because I am one of the working poor I do not have health insurance I can't afford it, and I do not qualify for any of the state insurance programs . So my children do without healthcare. Illegal immigrants however, have all of the healthcare they could possibly want. It is difficult to watch them give taxpayer dollars - MY MONEY! - while my children do without. I live in Flroida and illegal immigrants rob, rape, murder, and kidnap our children off the bus stops - because they are criminals and they know they will merely be deported if they get caught.

I want to get rid of all the Sanctuary Cities, and I want the current Immigration Laws ENFORCED, and I want the fences at the borders just like congress voted for and appropriated the funds for. If I had my way we would have a Great Wall of China built across the borders, complete with a moat and filled with Florida Alligators to prevent crossing. :D

Any issues that promote family, family values, and prevents the government from snatching our children away from us as soon as they are potty trained and indoctrinating them with the socialist liberal democratic values will appeal to women.

Hillary Clinton scares me to death! She wants to make preschool mandatory. She wants the state to raise my grandchildren! I see that as nothing short of Hitler Youth Corps - get them while they are young and impressionable and then you can rule the world. :( :( :(

When I was a child we were raised to think for ourselves. Our Social Studies Classes taught us about why our country is so important and why we should value the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. We learned the democratic process at an early age. We said the Pledge of Allegiance every morning and we MEANT it! :)

Women of America are mad as hell and we aren't going to take it any more! We want our children back! We want our families back! We want our life back, we want our liberty and the pursuit of happiness back! We want to build a brighter future for our grandchildren! We want to feel safe again!

Another reason women want to vote for Dr. Paul is that he is quite handsome - he reminds me of Fraiser Crane's dad. He is smart, he is intelligent, he has a great sense of humor, and I think he should be embraced as one of the wisest and most respectable men in our country at this time.

How about a youtube video with the image of school children standing at attention, their right hand over their hearts, saying the Pledge of Allegiance, and when they get to One Nation Under God, with Liberty and Justice For All - Ron Paul could come on with his statements regarding family values?

School children singing - This Land is Your Land this Land is My Land -etc.

(BTW I think this ought to be the Ron Paul Grassroots Campaign song - one voice, then two, then a dozen from all walks and station of life, then a hundred, then a football field full, then a country full of people joining together in song for taking back our country!)

How about images of mothers and grandmothers rocking and holding their babies (of all races) while Ron Paul statements regarding abortion and family values are shown.

I think the women that like Rudy, do so because they think he will "keep them safe". That is one reason I think Ron *really* needs to dispel the myth that he is lacking on national defense/security and would not fight if needed.

It's a split on the abortion issue. A lot of women don't want any bureaucrat to tell them what to do with their body; especially a man. In that light, they're going to prefer Giuliani.

Women tend to also hold social issues very high. Traditional family values... against gay marriage, pro-education, marriage is between a man and a woman, Republican women... pro-life, anti-lewd language on TV, etc....)

Overall, I think they want a strong man, that they perceive to be no-nonsense and will protect them and our country That is one of the reasons, so many flock to Fred Thompson. Giuliani is also seen in that light.

I agree with LadyLiberty that stressing RPs stance on education is a draw for women (well, for some).

We part ways at the pledge stuff of course, as I see the pledge itself as a form of indoctrination of little kids so ... ACK NO PLEDGE VIDEOS! :)

LE is dead on. Women voters are looking for protection and security. The gov't can't provide either one, but that won't stop other candidates from making promises...tellling lies.

Focusing on the monetary issues may help attract some women, those who understand the perils of our situation would support RP. Not meant to offend by saying this, but it has been my personal experience that when trying to discuss monetary issues, many of my friends give me blank stares with glazed eyes - they have a really hard time grasping it.

I also think focusing on the war - ever spreading war - and how that will require a draft, and that future conscriptions will include women might turn a few heads in RPs direction. Has the potential to pull in younger women who don't want to be drafted AND the potential to pull in moms who can't bear to think that their children might be drafted.

The women who think like that are going to vote for Hilary anyways. She has more chutzpah than Giuliani.

Who do you think Giuliani is - Patton or something? He would not protect anyone but himself if we were ever attacked personally. The only reason he happened to be around when the 9/11 attacks happened was because he was like everyone else, on his way to work, and his office building blew up! Guiliani could not protect his own mother !!! He is a wuss!

I like Dr. Paul's idea to kick all of the illegals out of country, then protect our borders. THEN and only then will I feel safe and secure. Our current Homeland Security is a JOKE! We are not safe! I have been through airport security and it is ridiculous! They are taking knitting needles and antiperspirant away from little gray haired old ladies! In the meantime the terrorists are just posing as wetbacks and stepping in across from Mexico.

Dr. Paul was in the military and he has seen how the military think, and the absurdity of the politicians who use the military to further their political ideals. That is why he is so against our involvement in the middle east.

I would love to see some photos of Ron Paul in his military uniform. He actually flew combat missions in Vietnam - you can't get more John Wayne than that, now can you?

"Wetbacks?"

WTF?

A wetback is someone who comes into this country illegally from Mexico, thus called because all they have to do is swim across a shallow river, no? A terrorist who is from the middle east has brown skin, black eyes, and hair, and looks very similar to those who live in Mexico. All they have to do is take off their robes and turbans, put on jeans and t-shirt, and a pair of work boots, and they look like any of the other hundreds of people who cross the border into the United States from Mexico.

If my use of the word wetback offended you - I apologize. I do not use that word for anyone except those who are in our country illegally. There are many fine upstanding latinos in this country who are here legally, and I do not put them in that same category as I do the snakes who slither across the border illegally.

Is there any way to get rid of these google ads - they are nauseating !

Let's get back on topic: How can RP's message be tailored to the female vote?

LadyLiberty is right on education as a draw, LibertyEagle is right on the protection/security issue as a draw - but I'm not sure how to get women to see that minding our own business is the best way to keep the country safe...

I'm not convinced that women in America even care about global politics. I hate this discussion - it's collectivism.

The best appeal could be money, and I don't mean that in a shallow way. I mean that if the tax burden was lighter, more women could choose to stay home with their kids.

That's another good one that would play with at least some women - the tax burden and how to pay it they have to work rather than be stay at home moms.

It depends on the political persuasion of the woman in my opinion.
If Ron is against mandatory vaccinations and such, that would be a good one to use, especially with Liberal/Green women. Ron's freedom of health bill could be very useful as well.

Putting the education of our children back into the hands of the parents and the community is another good one, but it would have to be presented differently than "getting rid of the Department of Education".

Also, use better and more recent pictures of Ron, he is a goodlooking older man, fatherly/grandfatherly, but the older 'official' campaign photos don't show that.
