"isolationism never was, never will be acceptable response to[expansionist] tyrannical governments"
Are you referring to our government?
I voted for Bush in 2000. His talking points that inspired me were "states rights", "humble foreign policy" and "low taxes" and "low spending". That was good enough for me. Then he turns around after his minor tax cut (better than nothing I guess) and finances the largest medicare expansion in history. Reagan talked about getting rid of the Dept of Education and Bush expands on it with NTLB. Then he creates the redundant and worthless DHS which still isn't online other than sucking tax dollars out of the budget. This is on top of the mounting debt and spending which makes Bill Clinton look like a fiscal conservative by comparison.
There are countless quotes from the Republican controlled congress in the 90's bashing Clinton for foreign adventurism and dumping uranium all over the Balkans because the UN wanted us to. Now those very same people have completely changed their position just because we have Republican president. I need not remind you that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and that Saddam Hussein was a secular dictator that hated Bin Laden almost as much as we do. Speaking of Bin Laden he still isn't in custody.
My point is that all the other candidates are basically espousing the same crap that Bush is pushing on us, and all Bush has done is given us a small tax cut and veto of SCHIP. His 4th veto by the way. How many did Reagan have? It was close to 80 was it not? Is pork spending perfectly ok just because the people advocating it have an R next to their name? Why?
Do I think scrapping the entire federal government immediately is the answer? No but I'd like to split the difference and unlike Ron Paul no other Republican candidate is talking about cutting taxes or cutting spending. No other republican candidate is admonishing the American empire and the amount of money it is costing us. No other Republican candidate is talking about the collapsing dollar or our 9 trillion dollar debt. Nobody else is addressing this stuff except Ron Paul and even if they did address it you'd need to look no farther than their voting record to realize that only Ron Paul actually means it.
And thanks for the Welcome. The Ron Paul train is using some of the 5 million to upgrade to a Maglev.
My original post of their forums was basically the point that if they didn't elect Paul then Hillary was winning the White House.
My original post was replied to by 4 people basically calling me a lunatic.
I've never been banned from any forum or chat in my life. Nothing in any of my posts was against the rules afaik. No foul language or personal attacks.
I'm pretty amazed out how intolerant that site is. Just an FYI.
