We're talking about running for a political office here, not climbing Mount frickin' Everest. Mid-to-late '70s is only too old if you're talking about a politician who aspires to be an "activist President" like FDR or LBJ. Since Ron Paul's primary objective would be to leave us the Hell alone, and since he's naturally inclined toward this behavior anyway, it seems like a job well within his ability.
