I know Ron Paul knows what NH state motto is but he said born free or die(I could have misheard him, the audio quality wasn't great). I just don't want him to say that again when he campaigns in NH.

He did say that. I'm SURE he knows it's "Live Free or Die." Everyone does, and he would more than most. When you're speaking publicly -- or even privately -- something wrong will sometimes come out, and you know it's wrong, but you're already proceeding with your point.

Either way, he should go home and recite to his wife 100 times, "Live Free or Die."

Rememebr, JFK said he was a jelly donut in german, and the crowds still cheered :) don't get too worked up over it

and also make Ron Paul to repeat "Congress shall make no law" about 100s times.
In already 3 different interviews / speeches Ron Paul said "Congress shall write no law".

Its a verbal slip, but politicians like Ron and Howard Dean who shoot from the hip tend to have more verbal slips than packaged and focus group tested candidates like Romney.

It's funny. Even when he misspeaks, it sounds better than when the other candidates say what they intend.

I heard "Live free or die" when he quoted the New Hampshire State motto, but when he spoke the Iowa motto I could not understand it... something about rights and such ...does anyone have that motto on the tip of their tongue...

ahhh ... shows the power of Hollywood and Madison Avenue even affects the most resolute minded.

Born Free (1966) Joy Adamson and her husband, Kenya game warden George Adamson, raise Elsa, a lion cub......

Umm, trust me, it could be so very much worse. Just look at George Bush's perfect speaking ability.

Interestingly enough, I think the words "born free" fit perfect, considering he went on to speak of life and liberty, and that life must be preserved, even in the womb. This was a perfect use of speech to infer that life begins before actual birth.

Now, whether he meant to do that or not, dunno...
But it did fit perfect with his message.

words by Don Black :

Born free, as free as the wind blows
As free as the grass grows
Born free to follow your heart

Live free and beauty surrounds you
The world still astounds you
Each time you look at a star

Stay free, where no walls divide you
You're free as the roaring tide
So there's no need to hide

Born free, and life is worth living
But only worth living
'cause you're born free

(Stay free, where no walls divide you)
You're free as the roaring tide
So there's no need to hide

Born free, and life is worth living
But only worth living
'cause you're born free

I actually think he should avoid saying this at all on venues where he cannot adequately expound on it. I don't think most people who hear this alone (as I've heard it presented twice by RP) think of the first amendment...they just think "Uhh...isn't that what Congress exists for!?!?"

"Uhh...isn't that what Congress exists for!?!?"

so tru -- at the risk of sounding old fashioned, (i'm 27) do kids even study the Constitution in school anymore?

State of the education camps...

Just as a curiosity of history, I'm afraid.

Oh man!!
My little brother is 15, going to the same prep school I did at his age. I started quizzing him on which classes and teachers he had this year. When I said "Civics", he said they took Civics out of the "mandatory" curriculum. I about freaked when I heard this.

He said it is an optional class only, and only a few kids actually take the class each year. This is in a fairly competitive prep school too. Couldn't believe it...:(

I told him that I want to see his ass in that class before he graduated, and not allow the MSM to dictate his vote for the rest of his life. He agreed...:)

He also is a gamer and saw Ron on G4 last week. I didn't even tell him Ron was coming on...he just happen to see the interview...

Ron's getting around....!!
