If you are not an elite banker you do not want the currency to lose its value it hurts us all.

What you will find ironic is that many many years ago at a point in American history where farmers wanted to move OFF the gold standard and go on silver, it was "elite bankers" who wanted the currency to maintain its value!

This tells me that the story is not as one-sided nor as simple as many try to portray it as.

Whatever benefits them they do. If farmers would of tried to go to silver then and sell off their gold silver would of went up in value and gold would of went down which is what would be normal in a free market.

Whatever currency the bankers have they want to have control of it.
