at the site above, the song streams for free! listen and tell your friends... getting the message out to the counterculture kids... let's show them that freedom is popular!

The song was released online by LOOK WHAT I DID today, and produced by BRIAN VIRTUE(DEFTONES, HORSE THE BAND, AUDIOSLAVE)

it will be released physically in early 2009 on Modernist Movement records.

lyrics:

"Bring Down the Federal Reserve

Trillion Million Monies
Zillion Billion
Gillion
it must be right?
and i'd do it again
if that's what it takes for this to sink in
if thats what it takes
i'd do it again
if that's what it takes
burn them!
your little fiat monies
burn them...up in flames!
sell it
line up
run on your bank
one buck buyout
legal? it can't be right!
and i'd do it again
if that's what it takes for this to sink in
if that's what it takes!
burn them!
your little paper fiat monies!
burn them...up in flames!
if you had your way
soon comes the day
we'll line up and beg from you
and I'll do it again
if that's what it takes for this to sink in
and you'll have your day
to answer your sins
and that's what it takes
before I can give in
and I'll burn your bank
and I'll burn your bank to the ground...
BURN!
Trillion Million Monies
Zillion Billion
Gillion
it must be right?"

This is my gift to the freedom movement, and i dedicate it to you guys!

Awesome!

See you on the other side of the matrix!

Lmao.

I'm glad you posted the lyrics. I'd be lost except for the part about "I'd do it again, if that's what it takes for this to sink in." The rest gets drowned out by the drums and the screaming and the distorted guitars.

I'll give them props though, where props are due:

Look What I Did does a really good job of capturing the anger.

Nice, haven't listened to any hardcore lately ;) This is wetting my appetite for some Helmet, Quicksand, Fugazi, Sonic Youth, and Pixies:D

It's funny that a counterculture of "rebellion" began to boil down to cosmetics. At least, that's how the "scene" was before I quit going to shows.

hahaha yes. terribly so. i caught some degree of hell for calling that out a long while back in a blog

http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=270688&blogID=414232646

thats the one, it had like half a trillion comments with people arguing back and forth about it.

i think it all traces back to the concept of "commidify your dissent", where the corporate powers that be use counterculture and punk rock to divert funds back into the mainstream via stuff like hot topic, vans warped tour, etc.

Hot Topic is a contrived identification with youth subcultures to manufacture an anti-authoritarian identity and make millions. The $8 you paid for the Mudvayne poster would be better spent used to see your brother’s friend’s band.

DIY ethics are punk rock
Starting your own label is punk rock
G.G. Allin was punk rock.

But when a crass corporate vulture feeds on mass-consumer culture, this spending mommy’s money is not punk rock!
