How to apply Ron's platform to Michigan Economics?

Lets have a discussion about economic issues that will have an impact with Michigan voters.

Issues we need to be prepared for how Ron Paul's platform help them?
- High gas prices (see below)
- The Detroit Automakers are dying.
- Jobs (manufacturing especially) are being outsourced
- Michigan is suffering from a major state budget shortfallt

On gas prices...

I think I heard Ron Paul say that the price of gas has only increased due to inflation. This page disputes that claim
http://www.fintrend.com/inflation/Inflation_Rate/Gasoline_Inflation.asp

He also said that the price of oil in terms of gold is unchanged. Can anyone provide some evidence and explanation to back this up?

How would Ron Paul's platform impact these high gas prices?
My guess would be -
1. Stop inflation
2. Stop America's destabilizing influence on the Middle East (and the rest of the world), which is adding to the risk premium on oil.

Can you all help me flesh out these ideas?

Thanks!

Folks,

I know the idea of sending videos has been marginalized by alot of people on this board. While I agree you have to get out the vote, canvass, phone bank, etc., this video targets the finanical plight of the Michigan people. I have family there and believe me, they are in extreme pain right now. In this video from Aravoth, Ron Paul specifically mentions the people of Michigan and how he understands the recession their economy is in - and how to fix it.

Please share with as many people as possible. This video was sent to me in November. I didn't even know Ron Paul existed - I have been a dedicated Ron Pauler ever since giving all I can financially, and time wise to recruit, canvass, call, letter writing, etc. acroos several states. It is powerful. IMO, if Ron Paul is to win he needs to focus on his economic policy - no one else really has a clue let alone a solution. Thanks.

Don't forget NAFTA!!!

What if Ron Paul proposed that, as part of the long term plan to eliminate the IRS and income tax completely, he would start by pushing for immediate elimination/reduction of the corporate income tax for US automakers and auto parts suppliers that manufacture their products in the USA?

We had a Republican governor who outsourced all of our jobs and a Dem who proceeded to run our economy into the ground.
