Here's the reality. Not only does Paul not need to run.....

He doesn't even need to endorse anybody (Presidential Candidates). He needs to ride this thing out just as he's doing and keep the forces behind his philosophy. As soon as he endorses a candidate you're gonna have people splinter off into various directions and it'll stain Paul for some people who won't be able to believe he'd endorse "that guy". If he endorses Baldwin then the non-Christian following (Alot of people) will not like that. If he endorses Barr then a different group will not like it. And so on...

Realistically, if he ran independently he wouldn't come close to winning and it wouldn't look good and hurt his philosophy in the eyes of different people to different degrees. He'd also look REALLY bad in the eyes of the republican party and that does NOT need to happen b/c there are thousands upon thousands of people getting into the party to change it. Paul would automatically be considered a traitor and it would be a forever lasting stigma attached to him.

He MUST keep doing exactly what he's doing now and stay neutral and keep his still growing support and influence.

I'm serious. If he endorses or runs then 2 years from now and beyond the Ron Paul label will be frowned upon by alot of people who would've eventually gotten on board the liberty wagon over time.

the best way to bring the freedom agenda is to take advantage of the two party dictatorship by bringing the Republican party back to its constitutional roots, a third party, as we have seen with the Constitutional, Libertarian, Reform, etc parties will not work. Reforming the Republican party is the last chance for a Constitutional Republic in this country.

How is it random? It's completely relevent.

1) It refutes the Indy run theory, which RP dismissed months ago.

2) The rest has either panned out or is conjecture on what Paul should do. I think that it's up for him to decide if and who to endorse and when.

I don't necessarily agree. Killing the GOP might be possible if we could get enough conservatives to back us who didn't necessarily back Paul. Getting a 1/3 of the GOP base would kill it forever.

1) Why do you think I said "He needs to keep doing exactly what he's doing now" if I didn't already know that?

2) Did I say it was up to me or anybody besides Paul? No. I'm only suggesting exactly what I already said, that "He needs to keep doing exactly what he's doing now".

1) I believe nate's saying that this has already been addressed over and over again by Dr. Paul and further refutation is unnecessary.

2)Same as above. These are old and resolved issues.

I don't understand why you say he doesn't need to run for POTUS and then you go into why he should stop stirring up controversy. I'm pretty sure he has his congressional seat tied up until he retires. Ron's a fairly moderate libertarian, so almost all of his supporters are very accepting of anything we may disagree on because no one else even comes close to being libertarian to any level (in the GOP).

thanks for the post TheConstitutionLives...threads like this although not extremely important in the sake of news, but its a way to keep us in check and continue to follow the right path.

Oh, I know it ain't hot news or anything. Just something that's been on my mind that I wanted to share. No biggie.

Good points... I think people think its random post because of the way you dive into the post without any introduction.

He does need to keep doing what he is doing, I am sure he will hint to who he would vote for as president in the future but I doubt he will ever endorse because of the reasons you stated. Wether he endorses or not people will have different opinions who to vote for.

Hopefully all this pointless hype surrounding these third party candidates will die and we can concentrate sending Ron some friends in congress this November.
