Alright, I feel like learning a few good songs to sing and play on an acoustic this afternoon.

If you know any off-hand, let me know, i have no preference in style. Even some good classical songs, with no lyrics would be nice. I just learned pachabel's cannon and it's a blast to play.

Anyways, I'm struggling to think of some good songs to learn on my acoustic. Help a brotha out if ya can :)

"Caprice", by M. Carcassi. Learned it when I was a student. :) I can scan a copy of the sheet music for you if you like.

guns n roses
patience
one in a million
used to love her

firehouse
love of a lifetime

poison
every rose has its thorn

When i was in highschool my friend bought the Alice in Chains Unplugged DVD and we would sit around and jam on the acoustics to the entire album every single day and it never got boring.

yeah any unplugged songs are good - incubus is one of my fav's

blackbird is excellent and a good step up from pachebel's canon but difficult to master (i certainly haven't)

skynyrd simple man is a good boxy routine

i personally like to learn one song and then spend a few months flowing out from it in various permutations - don't want other people's music to change my learning path too much.

try playing pachelbel's canon with strums and mute the strings that make it sound good - kind of makes a 'yngwie'ish 'classical thunder' type sound.

also anything jimmy page is like a lesson unto itself

good luck!

just figured out two system of a down songs (at least that's what it sounds like to me). really quite simple. good band.

grateful dead tunes, ripple, etc.

Here's lessons for Truckin...

The nice thing about the internet is you can find lessons for everything, I'm learning how to play piano after years away from music as a jazz sax man. My hands work much better on the piano than the guitar, ANYONE NEED A nice barely used 412 Yamaha?

Here's a snappy little tune to get twisted into.

Then this isn't acoustic but it has Albert Lee in it.
