Conservative Mormon radio host Glenn Beck bashed President Theodore Roosevelt as “progressive” and defended pornography as “freedom” while speaking at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit last week.

Beck told attendees they must “learn history” or they will “fall to the mercy of things like — hey, I don’t like it, it’s bad, we should ban porn.”

“Bad idea gang, that’s a progressive, progressive thinking,” Beck said. “You’re for freedom, you’re for liberty!”

“That’s who we are!” Beck said.

Glenn Beck definitely supports liberty. His show has been a platform for over a decade to promote liberty candidates and squelch neocons, rinos, and statists.

Its like banning cigarettes. I don't think things should be banned because some people abuse them. Assuming someones brain or thoughts are bad based on their behavior or consumption implies that all minds and bodies are the same. Wanting to legislate or govern morality is progressive thinking. This is the same sort of thinking that stopped people from getting marijuana even though its the only thing that stops them from having seizures.

We need a great awakening and we need public figures to speak out to help get it started.

It's too complicated to go into here but polygamy was never supposed to be common in the church and was only supposed to happen as specifically instructed by GOD (if he ever issued such an instruction), the general practice of polygamy was one of the earliest heresies to corrupt the church.

Based on my experiences with mormons polygamy was common by design and i have known a lot of mormons. Ill take your word for it though.

Beck claims to be a Mormon and he should be preaching against the evils of porn and then saying that morality isn't the government's business instead of saying that porn is freedom and associating it with a virtue.

Beck is a political commentator. If he railed about how bad porn is, he could alienate followers who disagree with that. Beck, no matter his stance on the morality of porn, would know alienating people with such an issue isn't worth it if he wants to push actual important issues like liberty. That's why it shouldn't have been the caveat to a big lecture on how evil and destructive porn is and that society should shun it.

More in general, there have been many a Republican who's hate for porn was part of their platform.
