America has only a few extremely reliable allies, special relationships. The defense of Israel is a -- critical importance to the United States of America, and it goes much deeper than just tactical things.

* Yes, only a few reliable allies and they're grower fewer all the time, thanks to US foreign policy.
* What is the nature of this special relationship and on what basis does it exist?
* Why is Israel of critical importance to the US and how has that come to be?
* What are those other things besides tactical that are of critical importance re Israel and the US?
