Giuliani hasn't read the Constitution either

Rudy sez: “I think states have a right to decide that.”

Wrong, the right to bear arms is a right that we the people have reserved to ourselves. Rudy, please read the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution. It’s in the Bill of Rights.​

Rudy then sez: “I mean, states have a right to decide their gun laws.”

Oh really? What does “the right of the people to bear arms, shall not be infringed” mean? Rudy, please go back and read the 2nd Amendment again.​

Rudy finally sez: “The Second Amendment grants you the right to bear arms.”

Wrong, the Declaration of Independence states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights…That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” So, you can see, the 2nd Amendment does not grant the right to bear arms since we the people were already endowed by our Creator with this unalienable right; the 2nd Amendment just reserves the right of we the people to bear arms and our right to bear arms shall not be infringed.​

It’s very clear that Rudy was advised to throw in a few references to the Constitution to try to steal some of Ron Paul’s thunder. It’s equally clear, like the 9/11 Commission Report, that Rudy has not read and comprehended the meaning of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. Looks like Rudy has some more reading to do!!!

Yeah the RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. That means it is not a right available to either the Federal OR State governments to regulate.
