Usually prominent politicians are wusses, and only endorse a person once that person is a sure win - safe bets.

Newt said if 30 million comes in, maybe there are only a handful of large donors maxing out and he knows he won't be even close.

This is really great news if you look at it that way, their's some big donors on the fence and when they see Paul surging in donations maybe they can be swayed!
