Freedom Of Press? US Govt. Seizes Dozens Of Foreign News Websites

Apparently the "rules-based order" that the Biden Administration touts does not apply to the United States, as the Justice Department announced yesterday it was seizing the websites of dozens of foreign news outlets, including the Iranian government-funded PressTV. Is taking down foreign news sites a good look for the US? This story and more news in today's Liberty Report...

Too busy for a 40min video right now. Curious how this works with ICANN and jurisdiction. Not sure the US can unilaterally "seize" a website that is registered/hosted outside the US. I know this is kind of like commenting without reading the article, but hey, with text, I could have searched down to the relevant section.

ETA ^^

Can? Question seems moot. Apparently they just did.

Imagine if France or Italy, etc. were to seize ********, or how about microsoft.com or intel.com or... ha ha ha... cia.gov, and so forth.

Nothing good can come of this.

ETA: OK, why in the roaring flames of eternal damnation did stupid vbulletin ***-out "********"?

Seriously, what lame-ass buggery is this?

ETA^2: DUFUQUE????? N Y T DOT COM? The New York FUCKING Times... EN WHY TEA DOT COMMUNIST
