FDA trying to ban N-Acetyl-Cysteine?

I have much experience using N-acetyl-cysteine for hangovers. ;) It is somewhat effective for that purpose.

This is a great, well-researched article regarding the use of NAC for its many benefits.

I have some for the nootropic effect. I didn't know it helped with hangovers. This evening, I am hanging out with some Greeks at a barbeque and am drinking my share. I will give my report on its effectiveness tomorrow.

Promoting alcohol use is against community standards. First warning.

(Just to prove that I am intoxicated, so as to prove the validity of this experiment)

Go fuck yourself, Dabke!

Nootropic effects, huh? I've never taken it for that effect, though there is research regarding NAC for helping the brain regulate glutamate levels. Can't say I ever experienced noticeable heightened cognition using NAC, but mileage may vary.

Looking forward to your hangover report!

Oops.

I read the NAC should be taken before alcohol consumption. There is a Chinese herbal mixture that I take afterwards that I get from my acupuncturist called "Culling Pills" or "Kang Ning Wan" that helps with minimalizing the effects of most toxic things that are consumed. I will take that tonight instead. I will do the NAC experiment another day.

Just a side note, brewer's yeast is loaded with B vitamins and other nutrients to minimize hangovers, yet they filter that out of most alcoholic beverages. Then they sell brewer's yeast to corporations who make hangover remedies. That's one of the reasons I prefer to homebrew.

I goofed up. I didn't have NAC. I had powdered NALT N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine. I will have to check out NAC.

Also I wanted to thank Danke for not banning me for my uncalled for profanity last night.

NAC is a powerful detoxifier and helps clean your liver from Tylenol overdosing and great for clearing your lungs. So it is another good tool for respiratory issues like Covid-19.

I have some.

Good for the immune system, good for your liver/kidneys, good at helping prevent hangovers.

The FDA just wants to ban anything in general that might be useful for making your health better.

Ending the "Drug War" isn't all about recreational drugs! I think it's important to champion the idea that people should be able to choose and have access to their medications and supplements.

I remember when paragoric(a tincture of opioid) was sold OTC. You are right we should be able to purchase any drug we want OTC. I have no doubt that more people die now than they did back when drugs were legal. So to me the laws aren't saving anyone. BTw I purchased some NAC today just in case I need it for something. It is a very versatile supplement from what I have read. I know everal people who probably could use some right now. I hope it doesn't get banned.
