The column attributed the phrase to a headline from an unspecified Indian newspaper. USA TODAY found it came from an article the Goa Chronicle published Feb. 15, 2021.

But the social media posts assert an official action of some kind, and there's no evidence of that.

USA TODAY found no news reports or press releases from the Chinese government's official website that indicate China declared Soros a terrorist.
