Everything is FINE! Jeez people!

A gallon of regular unleaded hits $3.79; diesel now $4.52

Stock market is up 100+ points today and these experts say everything will be fine. Don't worry. Be happy! Be positive!

Gas, diesel prices soar to record high

Nothing to worry about folks! Go spend your stimulus check!
I would spend mine, but it covered a short-fall on my bills due to rising energy cost.
Everything is fine.

Yeah, the leading indicators are up because the stock market has been up, so the stock market is up today in anticipation that things will get better since the stock market says so.

I wish there was an index that tracked the gullability of the average american...I would be long gullability right now. Of course, knowing how TPTB work, they would short the hell out of the gullability index so that americans don't figure out how gullible they are.

The average American's gullability has no limit and is the main reason we are where we are today, we are surrounded by morons.

Please get in line, and joyfully skip to the slaughter.

Have a nice day.

With Love,

The Federal Reserve

I heard some very rosy predictions this morning on CNN by the National Association Business Executives (Economists?). Anyway, they predicted things to start shaping up in the third quarter of this year and predicted oil prices to start going down.

Hmmmm.......

It would be nice, but Im still nervous.

Stocks are going up in cost and down in value, just like everything else!

This is a good thing because the talking box said so!

I just got back from a cross-tie production facility.
The high cost of fuel has shut down several logging companies, and now there is a shortage of timber production in the U.S.
Got it straight from the source, but you see nothing about it on the news.

Being in the northwest right smack dab in the middle of timber companies (we live near what once was a sawmill) I can say that there will be a huge shortage of timber from here. The logging companies here stripped our hills and mountains bare a couple years back. It will be a very long time before any large amount of trees are ready to be harvested from the Snohomish-Monroe-Goldbar area.

Fuel cost is just making this local economy worse. :(

Ever head of Martin Lumber? My family is close with the Martin's... they own half the land in this state and have a rotation set up to where there is always timber to be harvested in the state.
The logging companies here are going out of business due to fuel cost.
The same thing will happen to the sugar cane farmers.
They both really on diesel drinking rigs to get their product to refineries.
