Bad idea - it's not a "savings" until the debt clock starts going backwards.

I think the idea is to encourage more popular support of the DOGE efforts, but since we're borrowing that money from our grandkids, it's theirs - not ours.

What's happening over here is you have these people who are completely nuts out of their mind screaming about Elon shutting down government and saving taxpayer money. They are claiming that there is no waste, fraud or abuse in government.

When your average person who isn't paying much attention gets their dividend, they will think.. wow.. I guess my calm, rational Trump supporting friend was right, there is a lot of waste, fraud and abuse in government.. and that screaming banchee who supported Kamala and transgender bullshit is just insane.

If want to call it a dividend I agree . In real world a ten percent dividend is very large. So 90 percent could go to treasury to apply against debt and ten percent could be split between actual payers and would be about as fair as could make it . Refunds of more tan amount pd obviously also need done away w/

I don’t understand your argument.

Isn’t the money “ours” to begin with? It was taken from me to fund these ridiculous programs, why is it all of a sudden a problem that they are suggesting they give it back? Isn’t the money in better hands when it’s in the pockets of the American taxpayers?

The MIC will indeed be overhauled as Space Force, AI and other cyber technologies are implemented.

There absolutely is value in Elon Musk leading an efficiency commission that audits the federal government. Anything that exposes and wakes people up to the waste and deficiencies at the heart of our political system is productive. But don’t be fooled by claims of incompetence. The true purpose of our monstrosity of a political system is not to accomplish the nice-sounding goals politicians talk about. It’s to transfer as much money and power as possible to politicians, federal agencies, and the politically-connected rich. And in that pursuit, the government is already wildly efficient.
