Earth Hour is currently taking place in Eastern and Central Australia.

Earth Hour is an international event that asks households and businesses to turn off their lights and non-essential electrical appliances for one hour on the evening of 29 March at 8 pm local time until 9 pm to promote electricity conservation and thus lower carbon emissions.

It is promoted by World Wide Fund for Nature Australia (WWF), an environmental lobby group, and the Sydney Morning Herald. The first Earth Hour was held in Sydney, Australia between 7:30 pm and 8:30 pm on 31 March 2007. The 2007 Earth Hour is estimated to have cut Sydney's mains electricity consumption by between 2.1% and 10.2% for that hour, with as many as 2.2 million people taking part. A second Earth Hour, in 2008, is planned to be an international event held in Sydney, many partner cities, and individuals around the world participating.

One hour will not make a difference, it will only make it worse. 1000s of business will use more energy to turn everything back on. Propaganda created by neocon/big business/CFR/Global elites. What we really need to do is shut all power off in America for 1 whole day. Lets see if we can survive. I guarantee you it will be devastating. How about for one hour everyone researches solar panels, or wind power. If you really care one hour wont do sh*t.

I'm in a small apartment building, but I'll do what I can to help out the cause. I'll turn all my lights and appliances on, do my laundry, and ride the elevator up and down for an hour.

The earth is cooling, after all, so we need as much CO2 as we can get.
