Donald Trump gave money to the campaigns of Rahm Emanuel, Terry McAwful, Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, the Clinton Foundation etc etc.

Trump is the only one, the first well known person I know to have deservedly called out Krauthammer for not apologizing.

As to your irrelevant point, yeah, you also gave money to politicians when you paid a tax. The payments Trump made are similar bribes, but to protect business. That's unfortunately just what you have to do to run a major business in America.

That has to be the most ridiculous defense of someone I have ever seen in my life. You really think Russian peasants were comparable to those who bankrolled Stalin?

Trump has been a blatant Clinton and big government Democrat supporter in the past, and I'm going to keep calling him on it.

If you make a lot of money and pay taxes, you pay 60%. For example, Bill Maher pays that. So you could argue he is "bankrolling" the regime. Is he morally reprehensible for that? I don't think so. I see the millionaire payments Maher makes similar in status to the bribes Trump pays to be able to run his business. It's in a different form because it's a different business.

HAHAHA, omg that was awesome. Doubt I would ever vote for Trump, but you have to admit he's going to make the race entertaining. Simultaneously attacking Neocons while enlarging his own ego sky high with the backdrop of the escalator LOL.

As long as Trump criticizes neocons I won't criticize Trump.

The enemy of my enemy something, something, something...

This makes for good political theater but I'd be about as likely to support Trump as I would Hillary Clinton (aka no chance at all). Trump may say a few things that people like, and I think he knows there is underlying resentment at the Neo-cons even outside of Rand's support base, but he has way too many strikes against him, not the least of which being his connection with the Clintons.

Rand Paul? I think he counts as well known. You must have missed the Megan Kelly interview where Rand went pretty ballistic on Krauthammer.

Actually, this [Trump trashing the neocons] could turn out to be a big plus for us. Hear me out:

Make no mistake, there are (admittedly, low-information) voters who are attracted to Trump. It's a style-over-substance thing. They are almost without exception,
" 'Murica!" people. They are out there, and in some numbers, trust me. Take a look at Trump's polling numbers. Yes, I know that it is a disheartening thing and a sour insight into human nature, but that's just the way it is. The morning after Trump's announcement, we got calls and walk-ins to the Republican HQ where I volunteer, looking for bumper stickers and signs. (No, we don't have them, and we never will if I have anything to do with it).

Now, these people are faced with cognitive dissonance. People like Krauthammer, who they obediently lined up behind up to now, are being taken down by their Celebrity Apprentice idol. What to do, what to think? Some of them might find that both Krauthammer and Trump are wrong, and open their minds to new ways of thinking.

As for the others, who will now stick with Trump's "Bomb their ass, take their gas" philosophy...and will reject those who like Krauthammer are not neocon enough...well, they were never going to vote for Rand anyway. But their vote is now one that is split away from other, ultimately more dangerous and viable, neocon candidates.

Gee . . . another politician with no guiding principles who says whatever he thinks will get him elected. So refreshing.

I could be wrong, but isn't Trump's position that America should have stolen all of Iraq's oil? That's not anything to support.

Yes and it still is his position. From what I remember (this was from a while ago so it could be wrong) he said the biggest mistake in invading Iraq was that we didn't take their resources to pay us back for "freeing" them.

Still I have no problem with Trump attacking the neocons, it takes the heat off of Rand.

Who cares? I love this! Don't be a wet blanket!

Go Trump, go! Man, I hope he's like this in the debates. It will be VERY NICE to have one more anti-war(ish) voice on stage.

I don't think Rand should criticize Trump at all! I think actually he should go out of his way to say nice things about Trump, like about him being a businessman and how we need more businessmen and people with real life experience. Trump is an anti-establishment(ish) choice. He'll appeal to people sick of politicians, just like Ben Carson. Rand should be very, very nice to both! Just keep piling on Hillary.

Yea sure, a repeat of 2012 with Mitt Romney!

Trump isn't the frontrunner and as long as Trump is focusing his ire on the neocons and Bush/Rubio then it isn't a bad thing for Rand to stand back when it comes to attacks.

Don't get excited over Trump. I know nobody here will vote for him, I'm just saying that

1) He still likes Hillary a lot, I think he prefers her over the GOP field.

2) He's open to running 3rd party

Which means that he could run against Rand and Hillary in the general election. He'll attack Hillary with force, which will boost her numbers. (consider the source of the attacks) and gain parts of the populist republican vote, so that Hillary wins over a split republican electorate.
