Cynthia McKinney clinches Green nomination
May 27th, 2008 · No Comments

A day after Libertarians chose Bob Barr to be their standard bearer, it appears Cynthia McKinney has locked up the Green Party’s nomination. According to Richard Winger at Ballot Access News.

Cynthia McKinney now has the support of over 50% of the delegates to the Green Party national convention. Although not all state Green Parties have chosen their delegates, even if all the unselected delegate spots went to people who are opposed to McKinney, she would still win.

The Green Party’s national convention will be in Chicago, from July 10-13. It would appear that there will be a lot less drama than at this year’s LP convention, or last year’s Green convention, for that matter.

She's a Truther, right?

How many here will be supporting her over Barr, Baldwin, or Paul?

quite a few idiots you see in Hot Topics, i remember in November after Paul said he wasn't a truther on Glenn Beck, they were saying they would vote for this socialist truther over the freedom loving Ron Paul

Those videos are laughable. Considering her entire career and record, it's obvious the media was looking for anything to discredit her.

She is actually one of the better candidates out there--the only candidate with integrity and no overt bias. I'm not a big fan of the Green party, but I really don't like any parties. It should be about the person and not the party, but that's not the way the game is played as we all know.

The Green Party deserves no one's support. The entire lot of them are batshit crazy beyond even our worst members.

I feel that way about all parties, but there are no independents running so I look at the candidates like we should be doing.

Cynthia and Dr. Paul got along well and worked together when she was in Congress.

They were part of the anti-war faction--along with Barr, Kucinich, Tancredo, et al.

Eh, Cynthia McKinney surrounds herself with racist black nationalists and has vocally been for slavery reparations for years. No thanks. Too far out for me.

Kudos to McKinney for Congressional oversight and for being the only person in Congress with the guts to begin to ask some of the tough 9-11 related questions. Not even Ron Paul wants to do this. But I realize that Dr. Paul has chosen to pick a different set of battles. McKinney is ffiggin awesome in my book. I'll still vote for Barr or whomever RP endorses. But absolutely every idiot that intends to vote for Obama has no excuse to not vote for McKinney. I would love to see a Paul/McKinney ticket, with Kucinich as Secretary of State. Pat Buchannan as Secretary of Defense. The problem with this country is that their is no Congressional oversight. 98% are bought and paid for. McKinney is a rare statesman(woman). I certainly put her in a class unto themselves with Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich. She believed in holding the government accountable and believed in transparancy of government.

Tancredo was anti war? I thought he was a "war on terror" cheerleader...

Bob Barr is former CIA and will take orders from Bilderberg.

The Green Party has too many socialist leanings.

I have nothing against Cynthia McKinney but she's not drawing in people in like Chuck Baldwin.

Before you "think she's awesome", you really ought to check out her voting history. I think you'll change your mind.

The woman's "racism" cries and other antics were just embarrassing. Personally, I think she'll finish off what's left of the Greens this year by failing to come close to even 1%.

McKinney is definitely better than Obama, and than McCain on many things.

Still not close to Barr, Baldwin, or Paul, but that doesn't mean cooperation isn't available.
