OK, I'm almost ready to pull the trigger and register for Precinct Captain, but i have a few reservations.

1. I live in NC, which doesn't have its primary till early May.

2. Am I a precinct captain for Ron Paul, or will I have to do other duties for the NC GOP and other candidates.

3. How much work is it really? I could definately send out letters, and would be happy to speak to pro-paul supportes in my precinct, but I'm not sure if I'm the knock on everyones door kinda guy.

4. Will being a Captain help or hurt my chances to become a delegate?

ok, let me have it!

1. I line in NC, which doesn't have its primary till early May. Every State counts.

2. Am I a precinct captain for Ron Paul, or will I have to do other duties for the NC GOP and other candidates. It is part of the Ron Paul campaign. You will not give info to the GOP or work with ther candidates.

3. How much work is it really? I could definately send out letters, and would be happy to speak to pro-paul supportes in my precinct, but I'm not sure if I'm the knock on everyones door kinda guy.You walk through your own neighborhood and talk to people about voting and Ron Paul

4. Will being a Captain help or hurt my chances to become a delegate?Has nothing to do with the delegate process, other then if you make friends in the GOP that may vote for you.

ok, let me have it!

Join Up!! Its in my sig.

Ignore the 3rd party crap, we could use you now if you are willing to join a meetup in SC and go door to door for Dr. Paul early Saturday morning.

1. signing up early and you can have the pick of a precinct close to you or the precinct you live in.

2. No you are only doing the duties for RP not for GOP

3. It is really not that much work. You can knock out 100 houses in a few hours. My precinct only has 400 houses. Partner up with someone if you have jitters. You will be amazed at how well you are received.

4. I don't know how NC picks delegates but from what I understand becoming a precinct captain is where you start as your fellow precinct members elect the delegates.

Find some cute girl/guy from your meetup and make a date of it.

Just watch this video from Glenn Beck talking to the head accountant of the USA.

Today, right now, the USA is bankrupt. Your's and your children's future is bleak because we all have a ~$400,000 liability hanging over our heads. Only Ron Paul is willing to talk about it.

Any questions?

There is no third party run, period. Everytime someone promotes this, they undermine everything that has been done to get the GOP nomination.

If you do not have a solid source for info like this (and willing to share that source), do not post it. Its speculation, and projection of your personal desires.

Great - plenty of time then to convince people in your precinct to vote for RP!

2. Am I a precinct captain for Ron Paul, or will I have to do other duties for the NC GOP and other candidates.
Ron Paul only - you're volunteering for the RP campaign.

3. How much work is it really? I could definately send out letters, and would be happy to speak to pro-paul supportes in my precinct, but I'm not sure if I'm the knock on everyones door kinda guy.
How much work depends on how big your precinct is and how much you are willing to do. Very few of us are the "knock on doors" types, but we're willing to give it a try because it is worth it.

4. Will being a Captain help or hurt my chances to become a delegate?
Depends on your precinct, I guess. I don't think there's a definite answer either way.

5. If not you, who? If not now, when?

Just be a precinct captain, print out the list of republicans in your precinct and then put your walking shoes on and drop literature on their doorstep.

That's really all you HAVE to do and it is so much better than doing nothing.

I signed up and will do nothing that doesn't directly relate to Paul.

Doing something is way better than doing nothing. You can use a program to mail merge the letters, then print them out. I haven't started yet, but I'm hoping I can personalize them. I plan to hand address them and hand sign them. I'll knock doors as time permits, but also plan to put my phone number on the letters in case anyone wants to call with questions.

I think this is a very important step.

I don't have an answer to number 4, but I think it's an important question.

1) You have a great advantage because your primary is a while away so you have time to really get more supporters

2)It's only for Ron Paul

3)It depends on what you want to put into it. In other words How much is a ROn Paul presidency worth to you in volunteer time? You are only responsible for 500 houses. Try to find another supporter in your area that can help you with the ddor knocking.

If you would like I am very experienced in Door to Door sales so if you pm me I would be more than happy to talk on the phone with you to help you iron out your pitch and help any way I can

4) Depends on your canvassing techniques. Have you already obtained the required number of signatures to become a delegate?? If so then no because you won't be mentioning your a delegate when your canvassing. If not then what you do is canvass for the Delegate signatures needed and then after they sign your petition to get you on the ballot for delegate then you can ask them if they have ever heard of Ron Paul? no ok would you like some information?

Pm me and I can help you a bit

To clear this up, WRONG. 10 people can be captains of the same precinct. While the point is to pick one without a captain, you're not locking anyone out or filling the only spot if you're only 50% motivated. As such, you're only "required" to do as much work as you want.

+100, don't waste time and energy on a 3rd party effort...if RP can't win by taking over the Republican party, why do people insist on 3rd party?
