Ron Paul needs to win one. The good folks of Oregon needs to send a strong message to the McCain crooked talker and the NEOCON lead Republican Party.
A message that says "The Republicans are going down this year if they don't change their ways. And it's all about foreign policy"

I live in Texas. And we are pulling for you down here.

Can you imagine what we are up against. The Neocons have infiltrated the State Legislature. And it's becoming a "do or die" for real conservatives.

We know you can do it.

Sadly, that isn't enough.

I know firsthand. To win an election, you have to play your cards perfectly right. More realistically, we can hope for 10% and break double-digits. Set it up nicely for later.

I know, I was just doing a little too much wishfull thinking. But, after all is said an done, one primary would have been nice.

Idaho!!!

High Tide
Open Primery
Rugged individualism and anti-Bush conservatives.

Woo Hoo!!!

Right now, with 66% of the precincts polling, we have 15% of the vote.

I suspect this may go higher as quite a few of our ballots are being held to be counted because there is a write in for Attorney General we are trying to get on the ballot for the November election (the ballots with any write in votes will be tallied later - possibly Thursday).

I can't believe that Ron Paul only got 14% in oregon. Man, that piss's me off.
I have been to oregon alot, as a truck driver, and they don't seem to be that stupid. Everyone I met up there seem to be very intelligent, and "up to snuff" on what's going on.

I guess what Ron Paul said about "name recognition" was truer than I suspected.

I'm still going to write in his name if I have to.

Well i live in Idaho and did every thing i could to get my dad, mom, and bro to vote for Paul. I thought i was unsuccessful but my dad called me yesterday and told me he voted for paul. Not because of me but i actually got though to them :) And not as we all know there is no going back.

Thats great. It's good to know there are still people who chose to listen and learn.

I'm a trucker. And when I'm on the road, I talked to probably 50 to 100 people every day about Ron Paul. Most of the time it's trying to convince them he is still in the race. Then trying to convince them that it's not a "waisted vote". But, at least a few times a day, I actually get to get into his voting record, the other CFR relationship, and the bills that he has authored that helps the trucking industry, tax payers, military, and other major issues.

It's funny, when I get to an Obama supporter, I asked them why they think he stands for anything, when he has a 50% no vote record. And lead that into his, Clintons and McCains stance on immigration. They then either turn off their radio's off, or they finally understand.

It's a good feeling to know that I said the right thing, at the right time to make someone understand just how important it is to find out all the facts before we vote.

Ron Paul has done more to help the truck drivers and the trucking industry, than any other candidate.

Good stuff. I work for a company that sells equipment to truck & trailer manufacturers, and you know just as well & probably better than I do how long this economic recession-depression has been going on - and the good Dr. Paul is the only candidate with a sensible plan to stop the bleeding.

I got a few of the flyers from the strikes back in April, which were, unfortunately, not orchestrated well enough to have a big impact. I was praying that all the truckers would coordinate their efforts, independent and fleet drivers alike, and shut down. That'd get the crooks on K-Street, Wall Street, and Capitol Hill on notice. Reminds me of the plot in Atlas Shrugged - you'd effectively stop the motor of the country (trucks delivering goods). We need something creatively drastic, or drastically creative - either way, something's gotta give. :o

A truckers strike could have happened maybe 20 years ago. But not any more. There are too many truckers living pay check to pay check. TO many company drivers who would loose their jobs if they shut down. (even for a day).
And too many big companies like Scheinder, J.B. Hunt, C.R. England and Swift who have their hand in the NAFTA pocket. Those companies can operate and make millions ona .06 cents per mile average.
And if the independents, owner operators and small companies were to strike, the big companies would just up their starting pay for a while, and "fill the need".

Ron Paul, on the other hand, see's the need to stop NAFTA. He see's the need to put an end to the Dept. of Transportation.
I try to stress to other tuckers when they tell me that the DOT can't be abolished, I tell them real quick that the Secretary of Transportation, Mary Peters, can be replaced by nothing. Just fire her, and don't replace the position. Then veot every bill that funds the DOT.

Mary Peters is the main reason why we have stupid log books, laws against us that have nothing to do with safety or terrorism. It's all about the money.

Take the law that says all "haz-mat" carriers have to have a federal background check. Now, if I was a terrorist, I wouldn't bother getting a CDL, Has-mat endorsement, fill out a log book or even go through a weight station.
And so by passing that bill (Obama, Clinton and McCain) tells me, that the DOT thinks I'm a potential terrorist.

But the fact is. We are hauling what we are told to haul. We don't care what's in the trailer. We just want to make a living for us and our families.

Very informative. Thanks. Back to the drawing boards. ;)
