Bring several blank voter registration forms. There may be several people show up at a precinct who are not on the pre-printed list of registered Republicans and will need to register at the door. We want to be sure there are plenty of forms available in case the person running the caucus runs out. You can download and print your own at http://www.sos.state.ia.us/pdfs/elections/voteapp.pdf

Before the Caucus on Thursday, Jan. 3

1. Find Your Caucus Location
a. Find what precinct you're in. This information is on your voter registration card. If you don't know what precinct you're in, click on the following link:
http://www.sos.state.ia.us/elections/voterreg/PollingPlace/search.aspx

b.Click on the following link to a map of Iowa and then click on your county. A list of precincts and subsequent Caucus locations will come up allowing you to find you Caucus Location. Click here: http://www.iowagop.net/countycontacts.asp

c. If you know how to get to your Caucus location, you're done! If not, click on the following link to get directions to your location: http://www.maps.google.com

2. Register to vote Republican before the Caucus. While you can register at the caucus, this creates a potential problem if numerous people arrive to vote that also need to be registered on the spot. This is a potential problem you can avoid. Please go to your County Court House, County Auditors Office, and spend 2 minutes and register Republican before the caucus. The sooner the better.

3. Inform fellow Ron Paul supporters of voting age (age 18 by Nov. 4, 2008) about their caucus locations and encourage them to attend and bring more family, friends, and neighbors whom support Ron Paul. Every vote counts!

On Thursday, Jan. 3

1. Call, Text, Email, Fax all your meetup members and friends/family (who lean to Ron Paul) -Offer rides and Carpool

2. Arrive at 6:15 PM CT, on Thursday, Jan. 3. The caucus starts at 7:00 PM sharp, but arrive 45 minutes early.

3. Dress nicely

4. Most caucuses use Robert's Rules of Order (AKA PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURE) to conduct their meetings. Brush up on them.
PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURE is on page 7 on this Iowa Caucus Handbook.

6. You can bring a modest Ron Paul sign to display at your caucus.

7. Have ready:
ID with current address in the proper precinct, if not have ready your voter registration card. Also bring a pen.

5. Make sure our supporters talk to the CNN entrance pollster. IT's VERY IMPORTANT! Those polls will shape their coverage tomorrow night. Look out for the media - there everywhere in Iowa.

8. Sign-In at the front desk.

9. Be on your best behavior!

10. A final count of attendees are announced before caucuses begin. Write those numbers down and match them up when final votes come in. Do it quickly, because they move on rather quickly after votes are tallied. (To prevent voter fraud)

11. At 7:15 PM or so there will be nominations and speeches endorsing candidates after some preliminary matters. Then, there will be a Straw Vote for President.

12. Mark your ballot for RON PAUL and hand it in.Write very NEATLY and LEGIBLY on your ballot!

13. Watch the vote-counting. There is an opportunity for a representative of each candidate to observe as the votes are counted and called in via phone.

14. Call in the results of the vote to Ron Paul Headquarters. After the caucus, we are asking precinct organizers to call in the results of the voting in their precinct to 1-877-857-9638. Here is a form for you to download and print to help keep track of the votes http://www.ronpaul2008.com/uploads/pdf/118.pdf.

15. Please commit to staying after the straw poll and try to elect delegates. Stay until after the vote is cast, we can have a landslide victory and have it mean nothing if we don't stay for the delegate elections afterward.

16. CNN wants your Iowa caucus story!

Watch out for Dirty tricks

If you are a delegate and have to tell about yourself, be general and say things people in the crowd want to hear, you want their vote.
Pro-life, informed voter, anti-illegal immigration etc. You will get sneaky phone calls trying to find out who you support.
Catch who they are calling on behalf of and claim undecided.
