Can you imagine what Ron Paul must be thinking now?

Just look at the forums. If the forums are even a little indicative of what the average third party thinker is going through then Paul has got to be extremely disappointed. Barrs failure to appear and acknowledge Rons ideas has thrown a huge cog in the works and had the exact opposite effect that Ron intended. Now we have a large group of livid former Barr supporters turning to Chuck Baldwin and and other candidates while those that remain with Barr are becoming increasingly defensive. Everyone is angry now.
All because of Bob Barrs selfishness.
This really stinks. This was really a fantastic idea on Pauls part to bring these other parties together in a way that would never occur to the mainstream. Just a very sad series of events today. What a let down.

I don't think he would be as displeased with the forums as he is with Bob Barr's betrayal and subsequent grandstanding.

I must disagree. I believe the mainstream parties, R's and D's, have done an absolutely amazing job over the decades 'coming together' on the issues while putting on a front to appear not to. ;)

Truthfully I think most democrats and republicans are fooled and actually believe they are black & white.
As for this forum...man are people dense. RPF looks like a thousand chickens running around with their heads cut off today. Like amateurs taking the bait hook, line & sinker.

Just goes to show Barr's true colors. He's a typical politician, out for himself. A real let down for sure, but not really a suprise...I have a feeling he was bought off by the Establishment.

Very true!!! The have truely come together in the circumvention of the constitution and civil liberties. Focusing on trivalities while deconstructing the very fabric of our nation in the background.

I hope RP called Barr and cussed him out!

LOL. I can't see him doing it, but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a very firm NO and WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING? response to his VP offer for Ron Paul. Either that, or Barr will be totally snubbed as he gets abandoned by most of the RP supporter base. Unless he apologizes or does something dramatic, he's toast.

I do know one thing: Ron Paul must be very disappointed right now.

I think it must be probably one of the saddest days he's experienced. A huge let down for him.
When he said this would be a "big announcement" he believed it.
I think he had a vision of this large group of disenchanted Americans finally pulling together for an important cause.
Honestly I can't imagine a more devastating scenario than what the leading candidate(Bob Barr) did.
It's like something out of a movie.
The CIA couldn't have planted moles and worked anything so effective.
It hurts me. I can't help but feel for Paul who worked so hard on this in such a selfless way.

Ever read Hegel? Thesis + Antithesis = Synthesis and so on. Exactly as you stated.

I saw this (yesterdays events) coming the moment the LP chose Bob Barr and WAR. Of course Bob Barr would pull some shit like this, it is a classic covert move, he has only one agenda; to make sure that no third party can gain true momentum and true relevancy. This is American politics and Dr. Paul has made some great headway but we cannot expect to reverse decades of an entrenched neoconservative line of thought in one election especially when the MSM is the vehicle for American reality on a populace level. At least Dr. Paul's message is somewhat a part of that now. Bottom line is they could not and can not keep the message down. Not as long as each of us continues to spread it far and wide.

History has been made this year regardless of the outcome. This revolution does not end with the presidential election. At least not for me, I have been saying this for years only to be called crazy. Maybe I am but these ideas about our government are becoming more and more relevant. People around here are understandably upset but it is not about us as individuals rather it is about us as Americans. The trivial differences between the two parties only gets clearer and clearer. The LP has shown itself to be an instrument of the system on the cusp of relevance and after today will get pushed back to where it belongs, hopefully.

I mean, come on, Bob Barr! What a joke this was! They let the monster in the room and in fact welcomed it with open arms. In some ways Ron Paul is guilty of this too. I am certain he sees that now and it is better that it happen sooner than later, and he also must realize that Barr is a political nobody in comparison to him at this point. Sure there is some damage that will arise out of this division but unless the next president has a "genie in a bottle" the Freedom Philosophy coupled with a nation wide rejection of the two parties that brought us here only looks better and better to more and more Americans. The next decade is going to be very interesting on many different levels.

It is obvious how the Dr. remains so positive as a lot has been accomplished. The seeds have been planted the question is can we as Americans continue to make them grow. I hope with all of my being that we can and there is nothing that can discourage me right now as I have waited my entire adult life for THESE TIMES when the status quo of the corrupt American political system is scared out of their collective minds. This is very much uncharted territory and WE must continue to draw the map... IMHO As the Dr. said it "hangs by a thread."

I believe this is exactly what happened. Is it not obvious? Anyone who knows anything about the CIA, knows this is exactly how they operate and that Bob Barr never left.

I don't think so. The former Barr supporters aren't saying, "Oh, crap. Guess I have to vote for McCain now." We're still talking 3rd party, having healthy debate between us and in the end 95% of us on this forum will still vote 3rd party. Ron Paul gave us the marching orders we've been waiting for. By encouraging people to vote 3rd party, by focusing on the most important issues and by bringing the so-called "fringe" candidates together we have a better opportunity than ever to reach out to those of different political persuasions.

I'm excited.

Well, I'm proud of Ron Paul, and he has no reason to be disappointed (other than the Barr thing, of course). I think he definitely got his message across, and many of us have been reinvigorated after a tough election season.

I can hardly contain my excitement as well.

This is liberty folks.

It is raw, often disorganized, and unscripted.

We've stopped being so concerned with winning (while that would be just great!)

We just want to be heard!
