My name is ____________. I am a former resident of St. Clair, MI. I left to join the navy in 1999, spent over a year actively participating in the Iraq war, and now live in Edwardsville, IL.
The reason I'm writing to you is because of a unique opportunity you are faced with this coming Tuesday. As you obviously know the Democrats will not be receiving any delegates from Michigan due to the changing of Michigan's primary date. Because of this fact I would ask that instead of voting for a democrat on Jan. 15th you instead cast your ballot for Republican candidate Ron Paul.
The democratic party would gain in several ways from you doing this.
1) It will be seen as a protest vote against President Bush and his unjust, illegal war in Iraq. Ron Paul is the only Republican Candidate who opposes the war and would bring troops home immediately if elected. Him winning Michigan will hurt the pro-Iraq war republicans of congress and empower the anti-Iraq war democrats.

2) Ron Paul, like many of the democrat candidates, has an incredible record when it comes to civil rights and civil liberties. If Ron Paul has a strong showing in Michigan it will force the rest of the Republican party to take a look at their own record on this issue.
3) It will damage the Republican presidential candidates as a whole. If Ron Paul was to win in Michigan it will cause even greater chaos and confusion within the Republican party. This will mean that the Democrats will have much more time to rally around their Presidential nominee while the Republicans become weaker and weaker due to in-house bickering.
I strongly urge that you vote for Presidential candidate Ron Paul and that you ask your fellow democrats to do like wise.
Sincerely,
