Obama isn't on the ballot. Can we get a list of numbers for MI? Does anyone have one?

When I got my list, I was surprised there were only Republicans/independents listed on it. Duh....
Sure can't win over the others without trying to get the message out to them.

Normally, a Republican would not be targeting Democrats, which is why the lists we have do not include them. I think it is unlikely that we would obtain lists of Democrats in a timely manner to make a difference before the primary. However, there may be some alternate methods to reach Democrats, i.e., through unions, certain issue focused organizations, etc.

Agreed. I just don't know how or where we could get those numbers. The heavier concentrations of Democrats are probably going to be in 248, 313, 586, 734, 810, 989 area codes. I'm in 616, which is extremely Republican (70%).

I took Ann Arbor 48103. These are still available: Call it out if you take one!

48103
48104
48105
48106
48107
48108
48109
48113

(This is only for Ann Arbor)

Here is a good script to use:

Hello (their name), this is (your name). I'm from (place). I'm an American and calling to see what you think of our country and the direction it is heading.

(Let them talk about what they think and how they feel. Then express to them your concern for our troops and how you support the troops and would like to see them come home immediately. Then ask them if they were aware that the Democratic Party stripped Michigan of all of it's delegates. Let them know that the Republican party still has half of the delegates and that the only candidate who is a Republican and wants the troops brought home is Ron Paul. Ask them if they want their vote to make a difference in Michigan. Then ask them, as a fellow American, if they will vote for Ron Paul.)

I just sent this message to every single Democrat County chairman in Michigan:

My name is ____________. I am a former resident of St. Clair, MI. I left to join the navy in 1999, spent over a year actively participating in the Iraq war, and now live in Edwardsville, IL.

The reason I'm writing to you is because of a unique opportunity you are faced with this coming Tuesday. As you obviously know the Democrats will not be receiving any delegates from Michigan due to the changing of Michigan's primary date. Because of this fact I would ask that instead of voting for a democrat on Jan. 15th you instead cast your ballot for Republican candidate Ron Paul.

The democratic party would gain in several ways from you doing this.

1) It will be seen as a protest vote against President Bush and his unjust, illegal war in Iraq. Ron Paul is the only Republican Candidate who opposes the war and would bring troops home immediately if elected. Him winning Michigan will hurt the pro-Iraq war republicans of congress and empower the anti-Iraq war democrats. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wC6D6uiLrgQ

2) Ron Paul, like many of the democrat candidates, has an incredible record when it comes to civil rights and civil liberties. If Ron Paul has a strong showing in Michigan it will force the rest of the Republican party to take a look at their own record on this issue.

3) It will damage the Republican presidential candidates as a whole. If Ron Paul was to win in Michigan it will cause even greater chaos and confusion within the Republican party. This will mean that the Democrats will have much more time to rally around their Presidential nominee while the Republicans become weaker and weaker due to in-house bickering.

I strongly urge that you vote for Presidential candidate Ron Paul and that you ask your fellow democrats to do like wise.

Sincerely,

I've talked to registered Democrats who've been called about Ron Paul. I think somebody's got the numbers.

Assuming this is legit, it could be big news for the Ron Paul campaign if the word gets out, as he is the only TRUE anti-war candidate and, even considering his liberitarian positions that no doubt disgust many Dems, he is no-doubt the better Republican candidate in their minds.

Please dig this en-mass as quickly as possible. How else might we get the word out? Anyone suggest a youtube video? Ensue a mass-posting on Democratic blog websites? Effort by the official campaign? How do we take advantage of this.

P.S. Digg.com kicks ass - I finally watched this youtube video released about the ease with which electronic Dibold machines can be infected with a virus that is undetectable to alter the results - it's literally f'cking mindblowing and sickening.

also, vote for Ron Paul in this online aol poll where he's losing

As usual, I posted here prematurely - in an effort to consolidate a bit, below I have links to the posts under the Michigan sub-forum that deal with this EXACT topic, so if you're interested, check them out.

This last one has some terrific commentary/effort to do exactly this - including a flyer for those campaigning directly in Michigan.
