It took me forever to find anything. But I found some data from the 2004 race primaries. Just about every candidate did not raise quite as much as in the third quarter. The only ones that did raise more were not front runners.

So, as I understand, in the fourth quarter for the republican side, Giuliani took in the most with 11M followed by Romney(excluding his own money, haha) with 10M. On the democratic side, Clinton took in the most with 22M followed by Obama with 19M.

If we look at history I believe we can safely assume that these "front runners" will not raise more than the above figures in Q4. Exception: I believe Clinton (due to current events) will raise at the very most 20M.

Now, Ron Paul has currently raised 8.1M. We can add to that 50k per day (to be safe) until the 16th and another 500k in offline donations. This puts us up to 10.2M pretty easily. On the 16th, I'll say that we raise a solid 7M which I believe is definitely achievable (if not on the low side at the pace we're going). That puts us to 17.2M . The last 15 days I will say that we'll raise a good 100k a day because people are pumped up. That puts us up to 18.7M

This is just using safe figures. If we raise 18.7M, we'll be the top republican fundraiser FOR SURE and even have a good shot at upsetting Obama. BUT, think about it. Just another 2 mil along the road either through the tea party or higher average day donations, we'll break 20 MILLION and probably have the highest quarter among ANY presidential candidate.

If we can beat Hillary in fundraising and break that symbolic 20M barrier, it will be beyond huge. I'm excited people, WE CAN DO IT. We just have to advertise the 16th like crazy!!!! Let's Do IT!

Yes I am pumped. I almost wish the campaign would take a loan out (if they need to) against funds that they KNOW will be coming in on the 16th.

Flood those airwaves!

I think we should do more to target a nationwide audience. There are so many folks that need to know they are voting for a possible winner before they will think about it. We are on the precipice of that, but i think nationwide name recognition campaign will raise our poll numbers and being a self fulfilling snowball.

I'm beginning to think its possible to best the GOP field for the quarter. Rudy raised 11 million last quarter, and we'll definitely beat that number. It would blow away the establishment.

I also think we can beat all other republicans in fundraising for this quarter!

I think raising 20 million is VERY doable.

Honestly, when I first saw the $12m target for Q4, I thought "They just picked a really big number and want to see what they'll get, because they'll never get $12." So $100m? Yeah, it's ridiculous, but that's the fun of it. :)
