They'll say he's not a Libertarian. He's a neocon. He was in the CIA (whatever the hell that means). He's a phony, etc.

What about all of us? I'm sure we all weren't liberty-minded. Some of us might have been liberal Democrats. Hawkish Republicans. Anarchists, as Dr. Paul liked to joke.

If you're alienating Barr, you're alienating an awful lot of Paul supporters.

How about if Barr is alienating an awful lot of RP supporters?

Whose really important after all?

Us or him? ;)

I wouldnt' say Bob Barr or the LP are alienating anyone. They are welcoming Ron Paul supporters with open arms. For whatever reason, some Ron Paul supporters (and especially the disgruntled libertarians) are alienating themselves from Bob Barr. I don't think Baldwin is a wise choice because he is more inexperienced than Obama...Baldwin has no voting record whatsoever, and has never held any sort of office. All there is to go on are his words. Baldwin should have started by trying to win a local office and worked UP to running for president...but I guess the Constitution Party had to run someone, and evidently they diddn't care much for Alan Keyes. At least Baldwin is continuing to spread the message even if he won't get very far politically this time. TONES

You are really losing your touch on reality, aren't you?

You are if you want to throw away your vote to protectionist Baldwin. If the LP gets over 5% this year, it will be a MAJOR victory. Naturally, we have people that just love the taste of failure. If you don't like Bob Barr, then shut up. Is that such a hard thing to do? Go vote for McCain, funny, I never see anti anti-mccain threads in here, only the usual "why i'm not vting for barr" "barr is a neocon" blah blah blah you're lucky I don't live near you.

I used to be a neoconservative and brushed off people like Ron Paul as radicals and nutjobs. As a matter of fact, I wanted anyone but Ron Paul to win the Republican nomination. I was enemy #1 of the libertarians, the principles they stood for, and anyone against the war in Iraq or the Patriot Act.

Sound familiar?

Now I have been informed, did some research, applied my own logic, and have come to the conclusion that I have been mistaken most of my life. Am I moping about it? Am I being silent about it? No. I am discussing it with my family and friends and spreading the message to what few people I can reach.

Is anyone suspicious of me? Does anyone believe I am trying to hijack the Ron Paul Revolution? Do you conclude that I am still a neoconservative and have not convinced you that I have truly converted?

If the answer is "no", then I thank you for allowing me to redeem myself.

However, what about Bob Barr? Why do you not apply the same logic towards him?

This is what confuses me about the anti-Barr crowd, in the very heart of the movement towards liberty and abolishing the status quo that has only harmed our nation.

I agree. Give Bob Barr a chance. I used to be a socialist-totalitarian a few years ago, people change. If you don't want to vote for him, fine, but why spread propaganda about him all over the place for? He's clearly the *best* mainstream candidate in the running, the sooner you accept this is the sooner you'll be using some of that common sense that you have been supressing for all of these years. Please, apply better arguments than ad hominem, then get back to me., and please, nomore of those old debunked articles, k?

Go jump on protectionist Baldwin's bandwagon, I really don't care.

I'm a former Democrat, who right now is currently supporting Ralph Nader. But the more I hear Bob Barr speak, the more I like him for how well he articulates his ideas. I'm hoping the Libertarian Party gets that 5% they need, I'll officially join the LP if that happens.

Wow... [a Barr supporter is] at it again.

He said "tickle", by the way.

I was the same...republican..I really didn't understand any of this a year ago. I always had my head stuck in fox news...totally brainwashed. Then someone handed me that DVD "America From Freedom to Fascism" and it changed my life. I started researching..and connecting dots. People CAN change with new information..and those who refuse to allow Bob Barr the same chance to do so are merely bitter..and hypocritical. I think VERY few people start out being a libertarian. Or is it Ron Paul alienating other candidates? Barr is trying to run a successful campaign agreeing with Paul on the vast majority of issues. The fact that Paul and some of his supporters aren't jumping on board means to me that it is Paul and his supporters trying to alienate Barr.

well, i guess there may be still hope for you to realize the truth
about barr then.

He said "tickle", by the way.

barr lunatic says: I'm gonna "kill you"!
person threatened: are you threatening me?
barr lunatic replies: I meant "kill you with love" :D

That was a clear threat. He just tried to cover his ass
by mentioning the "tickle" bit after the fact.
