I enjoy reading libertarian and classical liberal articles and books but never joined the libertarian party because I didn't think it would be honest: I'm not truly a libertarian. I've even struggled and thought long and hard about it but could never bring myself to do it. I'm not going to join something if I can't agree. It's not right for me to do that and it isn't fair to the party. Instead, I simply call myself by the more generic term, "classical liberal" and will vote for certain libertarian candidates if I so choose.
To my surprise, Bob Barr is now the presidential candidate for the libertarian party but is less libertarian then myself!! How bazaar.
Sometimes he seems to repudiate his voting record but in most of the interviews I've seen he defends his record, which should disqualify him as a true libertarian.
