What's this about Barr wanting to send money to columbia to fight the drug war>?

This is one of the many areas where he differs from the platform that Dr. Paul is promoting.

Perhaps it is comparable to, "If we don't fight them there, they will come over here."

If he is going to give you back your civil liberties and he's going to implement the FairTax and get rid of the IRS....then who cares about Colombia?

What people do in Colombia is not my problem and none of my business.

The Fair Tax is an abomination.

I will only support a candidate that wants to abolish the income tax and replace it with nothing.

Ron Paul says he'll vote for FairTax

I would also prefer a candidate that wants to abolish the income tax and replace it with nothing....but right now it's more important to abolish the income tax.

Yes, he has said that it is better than the current system. While I don't necessarily agree with him on that issue I do trust him to listen to the constitution. If it was in his power to remove it, he would do so. His voting record speaks to that.

So...ppl are saying Barr's new position on drugs are its a state's rights?

So does he still support sending aid to columbia for War on drugs?

Guessing:

There is a big problem right now with the FARC, etc, using drug money for terrorism financing that is a legitimate national security concern. To the extent he's addressing that particular question, fine. It is a very pertinent issue now with the implosion of the FARC, the Ecuadorean data from the laptops showing Venezuela, etc., official government support for terrorism.

(And it's spelled Colombia with two "O"s--the Colombians are sensitive about it; I lived there for half a year twenty years ago.)

From what I understand Iran is financing terrorism as well. Why is he not addressing that issue?
