Bob Barr is not Ron Paul, and there will be no Bob Barr Revolution.

I know it's about freedom, but pick your battles please. Don't throw away everything so you can chase a candle in the wind. (hehe i know the irony). The fact is, Bob Barr will not win because the Libertarian Party is useless. He has no better chance of getting on the ballots than Ron Paul, and a million to one less chance of winning.... by my math, that's about a trillion to one chance of winning.

Sorry, but this must be clear. Ron Paul has a better chance of winning on a write in vote. (still thats no real chance.)

Just don't get distracted. If Bob Barr wants to join the Revolution, he can do it the way we did... join the GOP.

Don't give up on Freedom and the Revolution just because one slick polition after another tries to jump on the bandwagon. When a leader worth following emerges from our ranks, we wont have to question the value. Ron Paul is one of a kind, but the message is not. The message will be lost in translation if we hop from one Bob Barr to the next every election cycle. This is so beyond just finding candidates. We have to take the GOP back so we can run the elections and kick out Deibold... we have to grow the GOP.... we have to educate. We don't have time to chase Bob Barr's dreams.

I doubt many support Ron simply because "he's Republican." I don't give two shits about a person's party anymore, as long as they have a brain and the ideology that matches my own.

you missed the point then.

Don't support someone because of their party, true. However, make the party support someone. That's our mission as we've been asked by Ron Paul.

Conquest of the GOP is how we can get America back. Flailing in the wind at every false hope, is not.

The GOP will be our free association, gauranteed by the constitution. It's not a political party of "them" if it becomes ours. It's ours. The whole GOP can be the Ron Paul Revolution. Be patient. We have 100 years and more. Damn.

We don't have nearly the time you think we do. Yes, taking the GOP is a good focus, and is important. However, it is likely just as much 'flailing in the wind' to attempt as supporting Bob Barr for whatever the Hell he's doing.

The Libertarian Party is on the ballot in all states, dumbass. Bob Barr is retarded though, not because of the reasons you gave, but because he is a religious nutcase.

you are rude. And also, I know we like free speach, but not enflamitory speach, so please don't quote Tim McVeigh in your sig line. Im not demanding you do, as I can't.... but please. We have enough problems.

Shink: We have already taken many GOP chapters. Soon, no one left but us in the GOP because no one left but us who likes the GOP enough to volounteer. That's not flailing at all. And we do have plenty of time. History moves in decades, not days. Just like how they say, "Rome was not built in a day."

Actually, progress in inventions, and indeed politics and economics, increases at a geometric pace.

Ever read any of Kurzweil's books?

no. Tell me more?

Basically, inventions, and by relation, (this portion about politics and economics is my theory, not Kurzweil's) politics and economics, change at a geometric rate. This is due to the evolutionary process that guides inventions; the time from invention to invention decreases over time. Likewise, the time between key political events and key economic events decrease over time.

Those graphs are logarithmic; if presented in the traditional format, they would be exponential in nature. I.E. Things continue to change faster and faster as time progresses.

Although I agree with your point that the GOP should be our vehicle of choice.

Interesting. I wonder what the effect of having 90% of the worlds total historic population being alive today would have... for instance, in evolution, scientists say we're finished evolving because there aren't enough isolated populations for a mutation to take hold...

it seems like Ron Paul people had a conceptual isolation and are creating paradigm evolution.

And the GOP is the most ripe vehicle for that evolution to occur within.

yeah, which transitions back on topic perfectly because I hope we don't mess that up by chasing Bob Barr into the Libertarian Party this year, then the Constitutional Part in 2012, and on and on... until we're actualy less effective than the Libertarian Party... who's already maybe only slightly more effective than say, NORML.

Barr really cannot win, but he doesn't have to win to be successful. If he merely peels away some limited government voters who are no longer represented by the GOP, the party will realize they have to realign to keep us in the fold. If Barr gets 3% or more in the general, that will send the GOP a powerful message.

We don't have to join the Libertarian Party to vote for Barr in the general. The only suggestion is to vote for him. Surely you're not going to vote for McCain if he wins the GOP nomination. I know I wouldn't.

QFT! Everyone should remember that Barry Goldwater lost the 1960 GOP nomination after a nasty intraparty battle with Richard Nixon. However, Goldwater spent the subsequent four years regrouping to finally with the 1964 GOP nomination. The rest is history.

Likewise, we need to account for the likelihood that Ron Paul will not be the GOP nominee this year. However, we must be laying the foundation for Ron Paul to win the GOP nomination in four years.

I don't really support anyone because of their party. I support people based on ideas that are close to mine. And at this point in time Ron Paul is and will be the closet to me.

cool. i'm sticking with a write in. i see your point though. just don't let bob barr use our opperation for his ends... unless his ends in the GOP. lol

forgot to add...at this point in sticking with the Ron Paul write in FTW

if think one level higher, when we control the GOP, candidates will support our views. It's not hard. You just have to take your own back yard. It's not a mountain to climb, it's all of us going to a meeting on thursdays or something like that.
