BEST people to tell about Ron Paul

This thread is for discussing the people we need to focus on telling Ron Paul about (I know there was a better way to phrase that...). Here are the groups I believe we need to target, along with what I think is the best way to reach them, ranked in order of importance.

1. Older people, age 45-70. We can go to nursing homes and assisted-living communities, and tell the staff about Ron Paul. Hopefully they will allow us to leave literature and maybe a DVD.

2. College students. Put informational flyers up on bulletin boards, and do voter registrations at your local colleges.

3. Food and Beverage people. They're usually very social, which can be a major asset to the campaign. I've just been handing a stack of slimjims to one manager or employee and asking them to put them somewhere the rest of the staff can see.

That's all I can think of. Another thing you can do is put a stack of slimjims at the counter every time you go to the gas station. I have yet to be turned down.

4. The drug culture - potheads, families of people in prison for non-violent drug crimes (Ron Paul has said he would pardon them), NORML, LEAP (Law Enforcement Against Prohibition), Willie Nelson, medicinal marijuana advocates including the "compassion clubs" in California.

5. The Anti- War Movement
Did you know that 500 THOUSAND people marched in New York against the war in 2004?

Hundreds of groups organized protests, including United for Peace and Justice, a coalition of more than 800 anti-war and social justice groups, and International ANSWER.

Let's get ahold of those people.

I saw some 4x6 drug war cards on here somewhere... where can I get those? And, how can we get in touch with families of those imprisoned for drug offenses?

Local bands would be excellent people to tell about Ron Paul. In fact, I think I'm going to email some right now.

NORML - Do they know Ron Paul? Let's make sure they do!

I'm sure that these people could be found/contacted with the help of NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws).

What is NORML and what does the organization stand for?
NORML is a nonprofit, public-interest lobby that for more than 30 years has provided a voice for those Americans who oppose marijuana prohibition. We represent the interests of the tens of millions of Americans who smoke marijuana responsibly and believe the recreational and medicinal use of marijuana should no longer be a crime.

We provide expert witnesses for legislative hearings in support of marijuana reform legislation and to provide testimony to assist defendants charged with marijuana offenses. NORML also serves as a marijuana-law reform advocate with the media nationwide, publishes a periodic newsletter, and maintains a comprehensive web site.

Everyone.

Seriously. I've spoken to republican college students who are considering supporting him now. I've spoken to a college graduate who's an entrepreneur - he is now a diehard supporter. I did some overtime today and a co-worker who's in his forties complained that he's gotta work half the time just to pay taxes. So I asked him which presidential candidate he supports. He said they're all the same so he doesnt' care. I told him about Ron Paul. He was very surprised to learn Paul's positions mirrored his. He was very impressed and wants to look him up. I got his personal email and will be emailing him a couple of video clips to peak his interest.

Ron Paul must be sold to the masses, not just to specific groups. The masses have to be convinced that Ron Paul's foreign policy will make us STRONGER and that his fiscal policies will make us WEALTHIER. As sad as it sounds, the masses are NOT concerned enough about their civil liberties. They want a President who will make the U.S stronger and wealthier. Ron Paul is that man so make sure you adjust your sales pitch to match your customer's needs.

Small business people.

They know how out of control the government has become, at all levels. They also have money to donate, if they're making any profit after taxes.

I agree with you, but I was hoping to help everyone use their "Ron Paul marketing" time in the most efficient way, and try to think of certain groups of people who might be more open to his message than the average person.
