Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke publicly admitted Fed caused Great Depression

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernanke

Bernanke is particularly interested in the economic and political causes of the Great Depression, on which he has written extensively. On Milton Friedman's ninetieth birthday, Nov. 8, 2002, he stated: "Let me end my talk by abusing slightly my status as an official representative of the Federal Reserve. I would like to say to Milton and Anna: Regarding the Great Depression. You're right, we did it. We're very sorry...."

In a free country, what should have happened is that the very next hour, a prosecution team should have been forming to investigate this admission.

Causing a depression on purpose is deeply criminal.

This reminds me of when someone said, maybe it was stalin:

"Killing one man is murder, killing millions is a statistic."
or maybe
"The death of one man is a tragedy. The death of millions is a statistic"

So it is for the FED, if someone robs someone's house, they go to jail for robbery.

If the FED robs millions of homes, nothing happens, it just gets recorded as inflation.

If it wasn't so tragic, you would have to laugh at the insanity of this world.

The establishment of a Central Bank was the fifth plank of the Communist Manifesto.

5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
Americans call it the Federal Reserve which is a privately-owned credit/debt system allowed by the Federal Reserve act of 1913. All local banks are members of the Fed system, and are regulated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) another privately-owned corporation. The Federal Reserve Banks issue Fiat Paper Money and practice economically destructive fractional reserve banking.

why can't we just do the right thing with monetary policy? Why do we continue to go in the wrong direction? god damn status quo

Because "we" don't control monetary policy, and the Fed has nothing to do with "we" the people it is definitely "them".

Of course, I am sure you are aware of this or you wouldn't be here. ;)

Obviously. But why continue to go in the wrong direction? Why do people put up with it? BOYCOTT FIAT CURRENCY!

If you are living in the USA, the only way to legally boycott Federal Reserve Points is to also refuse to pay taxes.

Income taxes must be paid in Federal Reserve Points. You cannot boycott unfair debt-based fiat money without also refusing to pay taxes.

Yeah. How about boycotting the USD? That could get interesting. Would coinage still be fair game? hm

Barter? In what?

I am talking about boycotting private credit from the Fed. Not dollars.

If you can trade in other than dollars; more power to you! That is good, indeed.

Work "under the table" no problemo

coins also contributing to inflation?

Just throwing this out there, but for those of you who are disgusted with the fiat monetary system, I am willing out of the goodness of my heart to accept any Federal Reserve notes or coinage you would like to ceremoniously discard. They will be properly disposed of, and viewed with contempt the entire time they are in my possession. PM for further details / shipping information. Thanks.

I disagree. The only way to avoid the irrecusable obligations of the Fed, is to apply the remedy written into the Federal Reserve Act in 1913.

They shall be redeemed in lawful money on demand...
