Barr already at 6% in Rasmussen poll!!!

If we can get Barr up to double digits then we seriously become a contender.

15% and he gets in the debates with Obama and McBush.

I still don't understand why he is polling that high. I would have thought he would be around 2% like RP was early on.

I heard that it was only 10% to get in the debates. So we are almost there. Barr would make Obama and McCain look like kids in a debate.

That is because Ron Paul has everything going and people know that Ron Paul and Bob Barr are similar.

Actually, they upped it to 20 percent to be in the debates. I don't know if he'll make that but 6% with growth potential is pretty damn good.

If that is true I am really pissed. That is insane. Something has to be done to put a stop to this crap if a third party is ever going to have any chance at all.

People know Barr more than they know Paul. Barr actually did things in Congress and got stuff done. He was at the forefront during the Clinton impeachments. Paul has never been at the forefront in Congress because he never compromises and nobody will work with him. Paul is viewed as a crazy kook in Congress as verified by Joe Scarborough.

In case you hadn't noticed, that's kind of the point of the debate rules and election laws. You're either in the club, or you're not playing the game.

If he can get above 10% and stay there, he can get into televised debates.

If he can get into debates, McCain will loose bowel control on prime time television! :D

"Getting stuff done" in government is not viewed as a positive by true libertarians.

15%, 20%, WHATEVER THE RULES for the 'official' debate, we should demand Obama and Mac hold an additional debate that is NOT under the 'official' rules in order to get Barr in. The Commission for Presidential Debates is not the only auspices available for holding these forums. CPD simply serves as a shunt for criticism that should be directly laid at the Dem and GOP candidate's door---it takes all the heat for excluding, so their hands look clean. Bypass them! Demand the big media hold an independent debate not under CPD rules. Any network, any leading civic organization can host one, as we saw in the primaries. Get an auditorium and microphones, and let's debate!

By what do you mean 'verified', in this, your 18th post?

I know that but I already thought 10% was extremely unfair. Anything over 1% is unfair. 20% is insane. You have to be in a debate to have any chance to get that sort of a number but they won't let you get in a debate unless you have that number. People need to be held accountable for this kind of stuff. This is clearly them trying to stifle any opposing thoughts. The elections in this country are a complete sham.

The CPD's third criterion requires that the candidate have a level of support of at least 15% (fifteen percent) of the national electorate as determined by five selected national public opinion polling organizations, using the average of those organizations' most recent publicly reported results at the time of the determination.

If that rule was in place back when Ross Perot ran, he wouldn't of been in the debates. Anyways, I think it's plausible that Bob Barr can make the debates, but I'm worried by Wayne Allyn Root is going to fuck-things up with his pro-War on Terror stance. Is it possible that they can vote WAR off VP?

I think Barr will get into debates regardless...I mean, he's Bob Barr. I know some of you probably don't want to hear this, but we should donate to Barr, too. He is championing the sound of freedom and liberty. If we can get him in a debate with The D and R, it would be big.

His campaign has only just begun. We can do this. It's not about the man, it's about the message. Remember!
