myself, when thinking it over, i rhetorically compare it to woodrow wilson's sense of purpose. its like listening to a less strident version of his sense of mission...
however perhaps i am all wet. clearly we are not hearing the cadences of ronald reagan and maybe several of barack obama's campaign speeches have been more intense...

in 1916, when he sought re-election, woodrow wilson wanted to keep us out of ww1.
in 2008 there were people who thought barack obama was deep down more anti-war than he's being right now and barack obama recieved quite a few votes from the people who were anti-war...
