Ask Ron Paul a question!

I'm not sure if this is related to the Google tour, but there's a great initiative on YouTube allowing people to submit questions to Ron Paul (15 seconds or less preferred) that he'll answer. So if you have a question, ask away! The more video responses/questions there are, the more this trend will catch on (plus it's a good way to get the message out.)

Im gonna hold my hand behind my back and ask "how many fingers am I holding up?"

Someone needs to post some decent questions. Most of the ones up there so far suuuuuuuuuck.

And what's up with Sparkles the Alcoholic Clown?

I think this would be a fair one:

You're against the federal income tax, and would shut down the IRS. I'm on board. But wouldn't that put a whole industry, thousands of people out of a job? What would happen to those people?

(and if anyone could answer that for me, i'm sure i'll get that question asked at meetup activities and i don't know if i have a solid answer)

Tell me what happened to the millions of jobs lost by our immigration policy and outsourcing, because of government policy, where did these people go. No one cared for them. Life goes on. Does that mean all munition factory jobs should keep going on when we bring the troops home? That answers that question.

No, it doesn't really. Would RP shut down these agencies all at once or slowly over time? The job market just couldn't handle thousands of people looking for accounting jobs all at once.. I'm trying to be realistic. These people who work for the IRS don't think they're criminals or anything, most of them think are just doing their job. I don't think we should shit on them or just say "life goes on"..

Worrying about putting an industry of beurocrats out of a job?

What if there was a whole industry created to monitor US citizens on TV monitors from cameras set up all over the country...then some kooky candidate comes in saying he's going to give us our privacy back and have all of those cameras taken down. Would you be worried about all of those camera operators?

I personally work for a company that makes a pretty decent penny on the "military industrial complex". I'm working myself out of a job by supporting Ron Paul. If he loses I go on making the big bucks as a defense contractor. If he wins, I'll have to find a real job in the private sector. I'd probably end up working for one of the phone companies, creating new technology for them, and thus new technology for consumers.

I'm sure each one of those accountants could be doing something more useful for the average consumer than working on income taxes.

I feel it's more important to ask the other candidates a question. I posted a question for Mr.Romney about the Constitution, knowing that he would be tripped up on the answer. My question went something like: "knowing that you want to double Guantanamo, do you feel that enemy combatants are afforded a right to a trial for their suspected crimes?" Now, this is a set up. I know in my heart he knows NOTHING about the Constitution, and he will probably answer "No" to this question. Eventually, the correct answer will come out, and he will look ignorant about the basic laws and rights of our land. People will start to look at him in a different light. Call it tricky, but if he is aspiring to be President, he better know the Constitution. I urge others in this forum to do the same. Ask other other candidates a question about the Constitution that differs from their previous statements. They will look pretty silly later on.

I personally don't disagree with you at all.. My thought is that we should show at least some sympathys.. as tucker said in his interview, people can view libertarians as cold, if they know what a libertarian is at all.

Oh well, I think I answered my own question anyways, in that it probably wouldn't be an overnight thing and the people from these organizations would be put into the job market gradually. Kind of like a "phased withdrawal" from government positions.. :)

It would be slowly. He's said a couple times that he won't be able to close down these departments without congress approving and even then it would have to be slowly. He knows there has to be a transitional period between what we have now and what he ultimately wants see happen. The people must change their view on the roll of government, when that gains support the departments can be dismantled.
