APMEX has Silver Eagles!!

I have a feeling they had these the whole time. They just waited until the prices started rising again before making them available. Now for only $4.29 over spot

I guess if Ag keeps going up like it did today, $16 each may be a bargain. I just find it fishy that APMEX had practically *nothing* available when spot was ~$10.75 over the last few days but the day gold and silver take off (today), all of a sudden *poof* they have 11K SAE's and a bunch of silver bars ready for you, at a hefty premium of course.

EDIT: and monster boxes even! How convenient!

EDIT2: There are probably a better buy for the price. http://www.apmex.com/Category/156/default.aspx

Actually they had about 17,000 ASE's for sale two days ago, but those were gone in <24hrs. They were going for less than $15. I'm kind of upset that I didn't jump on it.

They must have disappeared in a hurry since I check the site a couple times a day and never saw them up.

Yeah, no thanks. I'll get them from local coin shop for only 3 dollars over spot and no shipping.

is the extra price really worth it for the silver eagle vs the "2008 - Bull Variety" ?

I don't think so. An ounce of silver is an ounce of silver. The only difference is the silver eagle is garunteed by the US government, but who really trusts the government anymore? I wouldn't be surprised if I sawed one in half and found the core to be lead.

The big difference is the rounds I posted the link to are sort of a "novelty" silver round, minted for the goldismoney.info website. They are just as pure as an Eagle but don't have the recognition/acceptance of an Eagle. The premium for the Eagle is pretty much because it is known worldwide, and as mentioned is a "genuine US gov't coin".
