I'll be at Ronstock in 3 days! I'll get there some time Friday afternoon, and I'll be there probably until Monday morning.

When's everybody else getting there?

I think I'll be bringing my full size Weber charcoal grill, so I should be able to cook almost any food you bring. It may make things easier (and cheaper) if we go in on some meals together.

I'm anxious to hear what foods will be available for sale there. I know there will be some good beef for steaks and burgers. It's on a dairy farm, so I assume there will be fresh milk. How about cheese? Some organic veggies will be sold there, any idea what? I assume there will be some sweet corn, and maybe onions, tomatoes, potatoes, melons, zuchini, squash, cucumbers, and snap pees.

Is there a keg in the works yet? It looks like Red Wing isn't too far away, so I'm guessing that'd be the place to go for beverages and groceries. In case people don't know, in Minnesota liquor stores are closed on Sundays, and they're open until 10 pm on Friday and Saturday. Grocery stores and gas stations only have 3.2% (crappy) beer.

Will there be picnic tables there or something? I'll be bringing a few folding chairs, and maybe a little table if there isn't something else there. It's hard to slice veggies on your lap.

In case people don't know, in Minnesota liquor stores are closed on Sundays, and they're open until 10 pm on Friday and Saturday.

do they require tax stamps on alcohol?

may need to look and see if they allow you to carry firearms in your vehicle, and if they do, do they allow them to be concealed in your vehicle.

I was nervous about going, only because I was worried about getting there, but excited now that it'll work out... Finally secured a car to borrow for the trip so I could sign up at the ronstock08 website... I'll be coming up from KS on Sunday and leaving Wednesday...

I'm heading out tomorrow afternoon- going to make a couple of stops along the way (aside from the beer stop). Hope to get there Friday evening and I'll help set up on Saturday if they need help.

I think it's a mix between old religious "blue laws" of not drinking on Sunday, and Prohibition laws. The reason the laws are still in place are because businesses lobby to keep them there. Liquor stores want to keep grocery stores from selling liquor. Grocery stores want to keep liquor sales to limited times, because they only sell their 3.2% beer when the liquor stores are closed.

Minnesotans have just become accustomed to stocking up early, and some will make liquor runs to Wisconsin.

Another old blue law still in place is that car dealerships aren't allowed to sell cars on Sundays.

(3) the firearm is not loaded in the chamber until the vehicle is stationary, or is a hinge action firearm with the action open until the vehicle is stationary.

lol... yeah, bars will be open... most of the time. It used to be that bars could only be open until 1 am state wide, but then they started selling permits to be open until 2 am, and now they're selling some special permits for some bars to be open until 4 am during the RNC.

So I won't be leaving until early Sunday morning, putting me there early evening (6-7ish probably)... I know I've read elsewhere that a lot is happening on both Saturday and Sunday... Any idea how much I'm going to be missing by not getting there Saturday?
