What would people think of doing this, even in the face of possible prosecution?

uhhhh.... not for the waste or the possible associated environmental problems... hmmm...

maybe if everyone just gathered somewhere central and sat down all day drinking tea. maybe.
sometime around march.

The anniversary of the Boston Tea Party is on December 16. We NEED to do SOMETHING!

Am I the only one who thinks that some sort of ACTUAL protest on December 16 (anniversary of the Boston Tea Party) is a good idea?

A march or rally might be a worthwhile cause, but why is there always so much focus on "protesting" and "we need to revolt!"? The idea of doing something that involves possible prosecution is silly. Be positive, be enthusiastic, be optimistic. Would Ron Paul suggest such a thing? No.

I agree it would be good

need to have a good "target" .

Please, enough of the "we need to do crazy things to get ourselves noticed". Ron Paul would never support such activity. There are many more much positive things that can be done. An enthusiastic march or rally on the day of the Boston Tea Party would be a fine idea, but risking getting arrested is never something Dr. Paul would support.

we're protesting the FRB by throwing our FRNs overboard. Except instead of the sea, the money's going into RP's bank account.

However, perhaps mailing a symbolic teabag to a handful of people/companies/organizations would send a message.

I support anything event which does not intentionally lead to the arrest of RP supporters. Please no violence, property damage, etc

Historically it was bricks of tea thrown overboard.

The colonists used the bricks for decorations in their living rooms as artwork as well as a form of money.
You might be able to color ice cubes and blocks of ice brown with a non toxic substance to throw into the ocean as a substitute for real tea.

A modern analogue to the Boston Tea Party would be to dress as terrorists and hijack a tanker of oil and spill it in the water... this is NOT a good idea in this day and age... stick to lawful protest/donations guys lol

Actually you might be on to something there. The idea of mailing/handing out those single serving tea packs with a message about Ron Paul and federal income tax could be a great marketing approach.

If I was in the Boston meetup group I'd be sure to organize a tea party and then invite Ron Paul. There must be somewhere good for that event. Maybe hand out bottles of Brisk tea or another pre-bottled tea with Ron Paul messages?
