Wow. I LOVE it that these guys are bringing up Al Gore's connections to Ken Lay and Enron's connections to cap and trade. Also love the connection between credit default swaps and carbon offset swaps. And then Gore says that there were people warning about those wretched cd swaps for years and then tries to say that global warming is more like cd swaps than co swaps.

The only problem is that these people are Republicans and Gore is a Democrat. If these were Democrats up there doing this, I would be cheering, but it would never happen because that's not how parties operate.

A well-deserved roasting, even if the bill is doomed to get passed. I like how well Representative Scalise punched a hole in the "consensus" line. Gore tried to slither away with the irrelevant argument that some people don't believe in the moon landing, but i feel like Scalise made it look pretty clear that Gore was simply cherrypicking scientists that agree with him.

And while Representative Barton's ridicule of Gore's shotgun approach to tacking global warming onto tragic events will probably be resented by some folks I know, it really did make my lousy day feel a little bit better.
