Hi everyone! I've been lurking for a while and decided to finally register.

But back to my question: how much of their support base do you think will shift over to our side? On the Republican side I'm guessing not very much, but I could see a lot of Gravel and Kucinich people possibly coming over.

i would assume 20% - 35%+ of their combined total. Allot of their supporters like their candidate 1st and Paul 2nd so its only natural i would asume?

I doubt Huckabee will drop out. My guess is that Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo will be the first ones to go. A lot of their support is because they're so tough on immigration (and because they're at least to being close to conservative unlike most of the "top tier"), so I see quite a bit coming over to the Ron Paul campaign, but not the majority. Same thing with the Kucinich and Gravel supports (less than the majority); except for different reasons, mainly: Ron's integrity & honesty and his very anti-this Iraq war and anti-imperialism.

A lot kucinich and gravel supporters like the anti-establishment aura of those candidates, even if they have no idea what they really espouse (socialism, oppresive government) and probably have seen republicans so maligned everywhere that the ron paul "revolution" remains an enigma to them.

I think a lot would find a home here.

I don't see many Republican throw-downs coming our way. Now the dems - that's a totally different story especially after last night's debate.

Yeah, no doubt. I can see a fair amount of Kucinich folks because it's a very anti-war crowd. I wonder if Cindy Sheehan (sp) knows about Paul.

Agreed! I hope the Democratic voters are starting to smell the phoniness of their 'top tier' candidates in not wanting to end this war. In the end it may be the disaffected Democrats who put RP over the top.

She saw a bunch of Ron Paul supporters at her anti-war rally in Texas after the Straw Poll. I remember pictures of a bunch of Ron Paulians at her rally.

I don't see Kucinich dropping out too soon. Neither Huckabee. The rest, probably quite a few will drop after october 15.

I would say 60% or more of Hunter/Tancredo supporters will come to Ron Paul. I am actually SURE of This. I have my reasons.

exactly. Also notice that they care more about civil liberties than republicans do. Closing of gitmo, patriot act, etc. Republican and Democrat establishment does not speak for Americans anymore. We need to realize this. Democrats don't want amnesty, police state, or endless wars.

Gawd I hope not...

I agree even though I have nothing against Sheehan. Its just the public's perception of her....the negative vibe and all. its the same reason we don't want Rosie endorsing Paul or anyone on the view for that matter. Good intentions, but would do more damage than you can imagine.
