a way to get the youth culture into the C4L(LIBERTY) movement HELP NEEDED

This is a key plan and I can make it happen very cheaply with a little help. For years the collectivists have used counterculture and youth music movements to create activism. Take a long hard look at the RNC Welcoming committee to see what happens when the socialists control the debate at events like Warped Tour.

I have a lot of credibility with bands and musicians and the scene itself, if we created a site that was directed at pretty much promoting the libertarian non aggression pact, had it looking cutting edge and having some interactive elements, had a mix of activitist plans, news, and interviews and features featuring prominent bands, we could get every little emo kid on myspace pushing the ideas of liberty.

I can get the interviews with the right bands. I've had the conversations, and I know who would be the right people to ask to start the steamroll of traffic from bands towards the site, which would start the PR companies to want to promote on the site, at which point it would be self sufficient. On the short term the goal would be to have an attractive online blog/news/interview site with a mix of non aggression pact friendly views ranging from libertarianism to anarcho-capatalism(gotta have those people involved in the punk scene)

Long term the goal would be to have enough resources from ad revenue to be able to have a presence on the Warped Tour and stuff like that.

I think if we had a team of about 5 writers(which I can get half of), probably 1 to 2 gs to get the website looking top notch,(or some people who can handle the graphic design or site design from our community for free), then we could get this to have a life of its own. I can get the interviews rolling with some of the key bands that can drive traffic, particular in the punk rock, hardcore, and metal community... I've already got a long history of work in that scene.

I'm serious about this, the democratic party has used my scene and my people as an unintentional supporter of tyranny for too long.

PM me if u are interested and want to know what some of my ideas for getting the bands keyed in on this are.

I was thinking of a name like "Libertycore: an information revolution", or something like that, I'm not real set on a name, but u get the idea

let's bounce ideas and make this happen.

I have been using this myspace site to help us to recruit younger people:

I have been thinking about the concert idea, but I have never organized such a large event myself. People in New Orleans love music, so it would be the perfect vessel to get the message across. You guys have to know that no one will take anything seriously in New Orleans unless it is accompanied by a party.

I like it.

I know a lot of people who listen to good anti-establishment music but don't actually listen to whats talked about.

We do need to get more youth into the C4L.

I'll help out, i got connections since I'm a high-schooler. I really know how kids my age think about politics.

It will be very hard, most kids are not open to any topic about Politics. That's why Music is a great example to get through to kids.

i was thinking more along the lines of a media center for that type of culture. it would allow people to view some of their favorite musicians who have that viewpoint, on the underground level, which could make them feel like its ok to have those views in that community.

there is a hard collectivist pressure, usually.

IMO it will be easy once we get the musicians doing the interviews.

the kids will pay close attention if we get enough of a variety of different guys.

I don't know. How old are you? Because I try to talk politics everyday in school. I don't get through, its rough.

All high schoolers care about is:

sports/getting girls or guys/ school and studies/ video games, tv, relaxing

Legit, I could go to school tomorrow and lie and say we just invaded Russia and Pakistan and Iran and the dollar just collapsed. And they would care about the Patriots losing to the Dolphins today.

Sometimes, a lot acutally, I wish I never woke up. Because I feel like I can't enjoy my life. I'm fucking 15 and all I think about is the current Political Establishment and our Economic situation.

I'm all for your project, but its going to be a rough ride.

Umm, have you guys heard of the YAL? Young Americans for Liberty? Its part of the Campaign for Liberty.

I'm not talking about a youth political group. I'm talking about a youth effort to target counterculture, anti-mainstream kids. the type of kids who are ITCHING to hit the streets and protest ANYTHING they can get their hands on.

show em their favorite musicians telling them its cool....

right now these kids are getting bought off by collectivists through the corporate mainstream(hot topic, vans, etc) that there has to be some kind of counteractive movement. the key ace in the hole to get those people to turn to your side is through the second ammendment... tell a young punk environmentalist that the second ammendment was put there to protect the citizens from the government, and he remembers that time he got beaten by a cop... bam. libertarian.

Haha- SOUNDS A LOT LIKE ME!

It would work if we got big enough artists.

There are numerous anti-mainstream, anti-Establishment artists:

-Immortal Technique
-Eminem
-Dead Prez
-The Game
-Kanye West
-Jay-Z
-Flobots
-Mos Def
-Talib Kweli
-Nas

I used to be a big member of the 9/11 Truth Movement, I grew out of that one.

But they had a site dedicated to like celebrities who questioned 9/11.

Would this be like that? But with interviews and such?

Yeah, thats really true.

And a lot of kids are angry at stuff- lets channel Student anger to a political cause instead of the normal violence.

Any growing teenager loves a good Rebellion!

It's a pretty rough idea. I am technically young, but whoever said the thing about most highschool kids not caring is true.

good point.
we need to target the youth in two fronts:
1) The academic front through Young Americans for Liberty (think college republicans)
2) The "fuck the system" concert goers. Unfortunately, this often ends up "fuck the republicans, democrats rule!" We need to let the "kids" know that both parties are the problem. We want liberty!

yes, and rock and punk rock and metal artists as well. basically, it would be a cutting edge, cool, edgy as hell music site with political discourse built in, and the political discource would be "fair and balanced" in the favor of liberty ;)

i can bring you those kids. i live in that world. ive toured with most of the bands that matter and my band does warped tour and all that stuff... i have these convos with bigger bands a lot and a lot of them are friendly to the idea, and could be interviewed in a way which made it seem like a lot of their favorite bands feel that way. i have my own blog on thegauntlet.com, which is a very high alexa-rated metal news site, and it gets a lot of traffic already, like 10,000 views a week. imagine if we had numerous other people coming out, and we had a really awesome looking site that kids would flock to, with a hip slogan about freedom.

This is good.

This all sounds really good.

I'm in!

It would put a dent in the "don't care" type attitude I'll tell you that.

Great idea- lets do this!

I'm really starting to believe that America may be ready for another Woodstock. We now have a cause, and a cultural revolution may well be on the way. Unlike the Woodstock attempt in the 90's, we now have a clearer view of who the real enemy is.

And the "Fuck the system" kids are really making up large percentages of students now-a-days.

Something that will bring in a lot of High Schoolers is the marijuana aspect, but we can use that as a meduim to the other, more important, C4L aspects.

In this new Facebook/Myspace age, something like this really has promise.

And you know there are dozens of bands and artists willing to come out for the truth- especially after this week.

And we can also use it to pimp the lesser known bands and artists.

I would love to get Michael Franti with Spearhead and the Flobots to perform together! They are awesome!
