I am indeed aware of the situation.

As you may know, Ron Paul is a very good friend of NTU's. In our annual
Rating of Congress, he has won our Taxpayers Best Friend Award several times
and has been a winner of our Taxpayers Friend Award every year he's been in
Congress. As you mentioned, he was also a featured speaker at our National
Taxpayers Conference this past weekend. He came in 2nd place in the straw
poll we conducted at our Conference. One of our best working relationships
with a Member of Congress is with Representative Paul and his staff.

Iowans for Tax Relief is also a very good friend of NTU's. This is an ITR
forum, and as such, the decisions on who to include (or not) were ITR's and
not ours. When we found out about their decision to exclude Dr. Paul, we
offered them our views on the matter (as many others did, apparently). It's
my understanding that ITR's decision was made based on Mr. Paul's position
in the polls, but I am not 100% positive.

Since this forum is being conducted by ITR, all I can suggest is that you
also contact them and express your views directly.

I am writing to find out if you are aware of the fact that Dr. Ron Paul
has been excluded from this forum coming up next week.
The reasons given are lame at best and the motives behind Mr. Ed Failor
are questionable if one was to spend some time doing some research which I
have done. There is alot of outrage about this issue.
Dr. Paul spoke at your conference and he should certainly be allowed to
speak in this forum. I do not think I need to make you aware of Dr. Paul's
stance on taxation. Its is inexcusable that he be excluded.
I am asking that you contact Ed Failor and Steven Sheffler at Iowans for
Tax Relief and recommend that Dr. Paul be asked to join this forum.

NTU has nothing to do with the Iowans for Tax Relief. They know about the situation, it is best to just leave them alone now.

I do question, however, that Ed Failor is on the Board of Directors, but that is their problem and not really associated with the current problem with Ron Paul not getting on the Iowa Forum. Ron Paul does get invites from the NTU.

I think the exclusion is turning into a bigger win for Paul than if he'd been invited. This way it truly looks like the "establishment" is scared, and trying to shut him out. You could practically smell Ed Failure's fear on that radio interview.

I say let them ban our guy, and then the media event of a bunch of irate Paul protesters standing outside the debate venue will totally overshadow what's going on inside.

I can just imagine the puppet candidates inside the forum coming outside to where the protesters, and the media are. Just so they can get some attention. LOL

Where would we be without automated responses? All they have to do is add your e-mail address and send.

Lets avoid sending more emails, especially ones that only explain the situation. Basically, if you think what you're going to send is going to merit a canned response, don't send it. If you really really really think you have something unique to add, and you can articulate yourself politley and intelligently, then I won't stop you. But, these are the good guys, after all. We don't want to swamp them with force, we want to simply show where we stand while keeping their respect, and the only way to do that is to limit our interaction with them to an amount of discourse that they can actually handle, and may feel compelled to discuss, rather than just blowing it off as spam.
