I just got an email asking me to attend some important county GOP function this Saturday morning. I don't know if it's for delegates only, or even if I'm in time to become a delegate, but I wanted to ask my compadres in Union County, NC if they have any specific knowledge of what this meeting is about, if submissions for delegate positions will be accepted, what form these submissions can take, etc.

If you are a Republican, you are a delegate (most likely*). Just go!

*- There COULD be more people that show up than delegate slots available, but the chances of that happening are very slim.

Awesome! Do I need to bring any identifying documents along with me? Honestly, I think I lost my voter card months ago.

bring Republican friends. They can be delegates and/or vote for the people running for the state delegate slots. Bring photo ID.. if you can find your voter card or go get another one then it's a bonus.

We didnt have to show anything. I think at the next step there will be a credentials committee that takes a look at the names on the list to make sure all delegates are eligible. I agree with what Slacker said as we had room for about 30 more delegates.

if youre registered republican then you should be on the list. take photo ID

we had 82 delegates sign up in my county. there was room for an additional 116 delegates. nobody showed up.

Everyone (all 82 people) who signed up to be a delegate was automatically certified.

I don't think it's even over for the counties that have had conventions. The party chairman can still fill the remaining spots. Anyone that wants to join late can always ask to be let in. (Just don't mention RP!)
